I live just down the road a couple of miles from Fyffe Al who won the 2A state championship in high school football last night. Just wanted to give a shoutout to them and a big congratulations.
Hoping that we finish strong in our conference and make history yet again by being in the first college football playoff.

Herbie and Desmond just picked us. Herbie predicted we'd come out flat, but we'd wake up and pull away. Desmond said about the same - close for 1.5 quarters.

Wow, um, heck of a pick by them. 90% of games are close for that long. I think they may be on to something.
Hanging in and around our hotel a couple blocks from the Georgia Dome. This is a wet, sloppy day and I think a lot of fans are staying inside. Consequently, this is the deadest scene I've ever encountered for an SEC Championship. What few fans are out, the great majority are Bama. Oh well, the only action that matters today is still a few hours away.
Saw in another thread - from a credible poster who would know - that some of the guys are sick w what could be the flu...

If this is true...why do people not get flu shots? Easily accessible and affordable/free.
I'm happy to say my back didn't get shaved today [emoji299]ï¸Âit was done last week [emoji305] I had a hell of a week, a spinal epidural on Wednesday and my 3 year old had tubes put into his ears yesterday.
FWIW - I just heard Thursday the flu vaccine currently available is useless against the particular bug that's "sweeping" the country.
"Flu" is used to mean any kind of illness. I think it took the spot of the old "grippe." This "flu" I take it to be the GI sort. BTW, even with a flu shot, there's no guarantee this year. Turns out that it doesn't guard against what's turning out to be the most common, which is also the one which makes you the sickest...
