This is what you can expect:

Scenario 1: Gus will throw the kitchen sink for the first quarter to see what sticks. Once he finds what sticks he will ride it hoping they are still in the game by the end of the 3rd quarter. 4th quarter on expect more trickery in hopes that one play gives them a lead

Scenario 2: We come out like 2011, 2012, 2018 and beat their heads in and they can downplay it like they didn’t have a good team that particular year.

An auburn win based off of what??? Gus’s stellar road record against road rivals?? Auburn losing 5 out of the last 6 games in Tuscaloosa?
Never underestimate Auburn's ability to get up for their Super Bowl and pull an upset. It's what makes this rivalry different from Ohio State/Michigan, where upsets seemingly never happen. Iron Bowl history is full of upsets on both sides.

It’s really not. Usually the better team wins the iron bowl. That whole “throw out the record books” stuff historically is a lot of hot air. You can ask Selma (our resident historian) and he can verify that.

I agree. Alabama has their lowest all time SEC win % against Auburn at around 55%. It seems like the talent advantage goes out the window and Auburn plays their Super Bowl against Alabama. Nerve racking game. They haven't won in Tuscaloosa since 2010...are they due for a miracle? I hope not...
2010 was then and this is now. The barn had a generational QB then. We absotively stunk that year. Worst 10-3 team I've ever seen. Totally different time and way different set of circumstances

I seem to remember several perfect seasons ruined by Auburn:

1972
1989
2013
2017

Just off top of my head. Bama's upsets include 1984, 1985 and 2001. A near miss in 1997. I expect Bama to win but like another poster said, I almost hate watching it because stuff happens. My nerves will be shot, for sure.

It doesn't matter if Auburn is good, bad, or indifferent when it comes to this game. My experience is bring your A game BAMA because you never know what mystical things may happen when you play the Barn.

In 2017 we were so beat to crap on injuries at that time that we had a kid with diabetes playing linebacker losing 2017 should not have shocked anyone. I love Jalen but we had no down field threat passing. 2013 was not the invincible team people try re-write history that we were. We were much worse on defense and did not have the same team chemistry. 1989-Curry’s teams were notoriously soft.

We did have a downfield passing threat in 17. He was just on the bench in that game, lol.

I understand the emotion that surrounds this game for players and fans alike. But football games are not won by emotions - they are won by better players and coaching. Looking at the fact that the barn should have lost 2 to three more games where the referees stepped in and gave them a reprieve and the fact that they lost to South Carolina coupled with the absolute manhandling they took by the Vols run game I don’t see where they keep the game close for four quarters. They will for one maybe even two but the last half will belong to the better team and this year it is Alabama. For their lucky rabbits foot to work they have to keep it close for four and somewhere in the fourth throw a double tipped reception that the receiver catches while standing on one foot while falling into the end zone with time running out on the clock. Their offense scored only 23 points at home against UT we scored 48 at their house. Unless Mac somehow regresses to Guantanamo there is no way they win.

Score will be somewhere in the neighborhood of 48 to 17. Bama rolls having more to play for down the road.

RTR!!!

Usually I would agree with you but I would rather bama play in the sugar bowl then have got travel to Pasadena in semi’s this year.
Getting ahead of things here...need to win the IB first and then the SECCG, but if it holds serve, Alabama would play A&M in the Sugar and Notre Dame/Clemson winner would play OSU in the Rose. Bama likely handles A&M. Don't want to play Clemson again. Like chances against OSU better.

Edit - Forgot about the Pac 12 but I could see an undefeated Oregon jumping a 1 loss A&M. Doubt USC runs the table, but they are 3-0 fwiw.

Yep...agree completely. No where near being an Awbun fan, but I have seen this game since 1961. I remember every loss we have had against that bunch. Cannot afford to disrespect them. And that is a GOOD thing because it makes wins count double. Anybody who thinks this will be easy should watch some old film...say...1993 for example when Bo's dad came in to relieve Stan White. I never dreamed we could lose that game. But we did. But it will be ok by me if Bama sets an NCAA scoring record. Awbun...the Plainest Village of the Lovely.

Clemson doesn’t scare me. I know everyone has ptsd from 2018 I just don’t think they are the juggernaut they have been in the past.
