It’s Barn hate week! How does the Barn compare to whom we have played this year? Bo has looked better and I know they run a bunch of misdirection which has given us fits. Their defense is good but how good? I have not watched much of the barn this year.

The RB is good and Seth Williams is a playmaker. Bo is a victim of daddyball in my view. Tenn ran it right up the gut against them all night. They would need their perennial golden horseshoe to beat us, I think. You never really know with Gus what will be put out on the field.

If Alabama continues to be tricked into defensive schemes that leave the middle of the field wide open or doesn't protect the edge to either side of the field, as occurred in Kentucky's first 2-3 drives last night it will be a long hard day of work against Auburn. The offense may ultimately win the game but it will frustrate the heck out of any Bama fan watching Auburn make long drives running the ball.

At the risk of getting nuked I will add my two cents worth. As mentioned above they want to play in space which presents a problem if you are a poor tackling team which we have lapses of being. Williams, Stove, and Schwartz are all very dangerous receivers, especially Willians who specializes in the back shoulder and Hail Mary receptions. Their RBs are good and pretty quick which helps with all of their misdirection. Nix is the unknown in their offense, he is pretty much feast or famine. He is a good runner which is not good for our defense. Defensively they are nowhere near the team they were last year. They have good depth and their kicker and punter are very good. We should win handily, but I have been through too many of these Alabama vs Auburn games to count them out until we are ahead and the scoreboard reads 00:00. The bounce of the ball, and pure luck are always in Auburn's favor when playing us and I expect that to continue. We win but in a much closer game than we could hope for.

I extra hate Barnville this year. Imo, they got away with at least 2 wins just based of the incompetence of the SEC officials (cough cough paid off refs cough cough). I am so glad we do not play them in “pixie dust land” this year. Their dB‘s are always super handsy and if they ever get called on it, they jump up and down and act like it’s their birthright to do so. Since they don’t have an SEC championship to play for, Gus will put all his focus into winning this game to make their season and save his job for another year. we need to get up quick and take the air out of them. I want unmericcelous (if that is a word) amounts of points scored on them and that may not be enough.

However good the boogs are, they always play better than that against us. And you can bet they spent the two off weeks preparing for us....as others have posted, they want to beat us worse than they want to win a championship.

I fully expect they’ll run all sorts of pre-snap motion and lots of eye candy to trick us into abandoning coverage responsibility, and allowing RBs and TEs running free over the middle. We were highly vulnerable to that early in the season, and Ole Miss almost won because of it. Then we seemed to get better, but had a relapse for the first 20 minutes or so of yesterday‘s game.

We really need to both pressure Nix on passes, and contain his running ability. All QBs’ effectiveness erodes when the D is in their face, but his erodes faster than most, and he gets sloppy with ball security. He is, however, dangerous with his running ability.

I don’t think their D can stop us consistently. But I’m not sure ours can stop them a whole lot better. So I expect a lot of points by both teams next week.

Not sure what unmericcelous means, but I‘m wondering if it’s along the lines of merciless?

You all are probably encyclopedias of this rivalry so what I’ll say won’t be profound or new.
Anytime the Barn has won in the past 14 years or so, it was by one score. 7 points or less. Usually less.
Anytime Bama won, it wasn’t even close.

This is a dominant Bama team and a middling Auburn team this year.

my prediction - Bama wins it by three touchdowns or more. The barn won’t give up, even at the last second, but neither will the Tide.

Doesn’t matter how good they are, RDHSC will rah rah them into a frenzy for the first quarter. How long Alabama let’s that frenzy continue will be how long they stay in the game.

I expect Alabama to be confused early on defense but settle down as the game goes on. As Jess N said. We probably spent some time working on auburn during the 21 day break. Just remember it’s not in Jordan hare this year and Gus is 0-11 against LSU, Bama, and Georgia on the road combined. (Think I read that stat somewhere).

Hoping the Linebackers have it together EARLY against the Barn.
The Linebackers looked lost much of the first half against Kentucky.
There was a reason because of that. Pete Goulding and Nick Saban both alluded to that They barely worked on anything UK and would se me what they would do and then adjust. Well, they adjusted and nothing for UK worked. 🤷🏾‍♂️

Now, I wonder what work they put in for Barnie? 🤔

We ran very basic stuff against UK and blew them off the planet.
Yeah, AU is gonna come in fired up but don't don't think for a minute that our guys (and coaches) don't remember the game last season and want some revenge (whether they come out and say it or not).
We'll be in a dog fight the first quarter for sure and some of the second quarter but after the barnies unload the kitchen sink and the dishwasher we explode and leave no doubt about who the best team in the state and country is.

Just hope AU doesn't pull a FSU and back out the morning of the Iron Bowl. I could see this one getting postponed, just like any potential game this year.
