Barn v. KState

I could spit nails. AU gets spanked for 58 minutes of the game and in the last 2 minutes they get lucky.

It's amazing how apathetic I can make myself believe I am toward Auburn until I see them in their uniforms. Then I want to rip them apart myself.

straight luck

Luck had nothing to do with it. K-State was an extremely poorly coached team. Horrible discipline on the field and terrible scheming that left Groves running free against an over-matched tackle. They gave that game away after having the lead for most of the 2nd half.

Hard to believe that Auburn pulled that one off. Kansas State had them beat during most of the game ... until the last 10 minutes of the 4th quarter really. Kansas State has themselves one hell of a quarterback too. He looks like NFL material already.

I tell you what Auburn has a hell of a player in that guy Quentin Groves. He was beating them almost by himself. Hats off to Auburn for this win. I always pull for the SEC team when they play somebody else. I bet even Tommy can't believe they did it. He probably still needs to yell at most of the team after this one. Their offensive line isn't too good at all. They couldn't run the ball worth a darn tonight. That's surprising for Auburn. They won with the passing game and Cox somehow tonight ... and defense of course.

Not luck, just stupidity by the K-State coaches. You would have thought that was Mike Shula on the sidelines.

I was thinking the same thing. That QB was the walking wounded out there. Auburn should be happy that pulled that game out, but they've got some major issues that SEC teams will expose.

K-State is just a thin team this year. Alot of their upper tier players are Juco transfers. Ron Prince will get it together or atl east i hope he does. He is a former highschool teammate of mine at Junction City High School in Kansas so I am pulling for him big time. He was a senior when i was a soph so I gotta pull for him.

The Barn is pretty banged up after that one and they did NOT look good offensively. Maybe State will bang 'em up even more. Here's hoping!:p

Wow, no one else seems to even bring up the absolute pathetic officiating there towards the end of the game? K-State was robbed in this game. What was that phantom personal foul face mask call that kept one drive alive? And what was that bogus "roughing the kicker" call that kept their go ahead drive alive? K-state deserved much better in this game, they outplayed the barn IMHO and deserved to win if it weren't for some shotty officiating.

Auburn better thank their lucky stars for most of those calls and for Groves setting the world on fire during the fourth quarter. This isn't as much of a case as Auburn winning the game as it is K-state giving it away. Auburn fans better prepare themselves because SEC teams are going to lick their chomps when they see- a young inexperienced o-line - weak running attack - fragile Qb - a defense that doesn't play inspired until the fourth quarter. Auburn will play better down the road (since this is only "preseason" according to Tubbs), but they have a lot of warning flags flying high.

I agree, the barn obviously had the refs in their pockets, just like they had in the LSU and UF games last year.

Luck also played a major part. Cox was able to get a receiver open with less than two minutes after a phantom holding call against K-State kept the barn drive alive. Then Groves got through their OL and forced a fumble.

The barn got lucky last night. But their luck won't last forever. I get the feeling that LSU is gonna get some payback for the blatant robbery the barn and its refs committed last year.
