Good move to stay. UCLA is a mess!

Re: Barnes contemplating leaving UTK for Ucla

I heard him speak at a Clemson IPTAY (I pay ten a year) dinner about 25 years ago when a colleague of mine - who happened to be a former Clemson athlete - took me to their dinner. This was a couple weeks after he had the run-in with Dean Smith. It was a very interesting group but I came away liking Barnes for some reason.

Later that year, I took my colleague to a Bama alumni dinner where Dabo was the speaker when he was an assistant at Bama. Coincidence?

Agree. At soon to be 65 with a rebuilt UT program (to his specs) he can coach at a minimum of another 5 years. UCLA is a hot mess right now, along with the entire PAC12. I can see the allure of going to Westwood though. Good decision.

Breaking.....recent information points to this guy being UCLA's next target....

I just got an alert that Ucla hired Cincinatti's coach.

I guess he straightened out his custody issues. Or he decided fame and fortune in LA was more important than his daughter being near both parents.

I don't typically check other teams' message boards, but had a free minute, so I checked BearCatTalk.com. There is currently an unfavorable 56 page thread on Mick Cronin that started on 3/22/19. I just clicked near the end and found this gem on page 55:

Watched Micks opening statement for his press conference.
1. If I’m a UCLA fan I love the interview.
2. As a UC fan it just shows how full of [crap] he is
