This weekend fans can get up close and personal with the sparkling football. The trophy will be on display Saturday, January 9 at the Walmart Supercenter on Skyland Boulevard in Tuscaloosa, from noon until 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 10, it will be in the Gardendale location on 890 Odum Road from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Fans should be able to have their picture taken with the trophy.

Well, stereotypes are had to kill, especially when stuff like this happens to fan the flames. Perhaps it is the best location logistically speaking, but it just sounds a little "WT" to me.

No disrepect intended, because I was born and raised there, but this is Tuscaloosa we're talking about here.

Yeahhhh gonna be hard to live that down. Can't they find SOMEplace on campus for it? Sigh.

But if I was in t-town, I'd be at Wal-mart just like everyone else, make no mistake about it. :)

The trophy is sponsored by Dr. Pepper and this was all set up by Buffalo Rock. They are displaying it in the stores that do a lot of Buffalo Rock volume. Its all about economics and hoping customers will buy more of thier product.

There's a Walmart stereotype that our rivals will use for a few laughs. Can't say I blame 'em, actually. But upon thinking about it, I think it's an OK idea. Our fans (and WE...) are mostly Everyday Joes and Janes who don't blanch at the thought of shopping at Walmart. I suspect more of our recruits' parents shop at Walmart than at Niemann Marcus. BamaNation is everyday people. Walmart is OK.

Maybe it also has something to do with the amount of Bama merchandise inside that WalMart as well, lol. I'm just going to guess it's a good amount.

Don't tell me that thing was made in China too.

:biggrin2: Too funny! Next time you're in Wally-World, play the "Red Run" game. Go to any random isle, the 1st person to find an item NOT made in China wins. You can mix it up by giving points based on hemisphere, non-Communist, or non-Warsaw Pact, made in Amercia, etc.

Have fun, you fellow victorious Bama fans!

So let 'em talk about it. Let 'em make fun of 'those dumb white trash bammers'

Fact of the matter is, we're displaying the crystal football, and they're not.

As far as I'm concerned, that matters more than what any other fans have to say.
