Great picture no doubt. The only thing that is more dangerous the mountian lions has to be a bear. Have to share with many people.:)
Maybe. Lions stalk so you rarely know about the attack until their jaws are on your neck.

Black bears, no big deal.

Griz, well, those can be a big deal.

It's a big deal to be able to tell the difference in scat from both bear types in the woods to know what might be around you. Do you know how to tell the difference?

It's usually recommended wear little noisy bells on clothing so as
to give advance warning to any bears that might be close by so you don’t
take them by surprise.

It's also recommended to carry “Pepper Spray” with you in case of an encounter with a bear.

You should also be on the watch for fresh bear activity, and be able to tell the difference between black bear feces and grizzly bear feces. Black bear feces is smaller and contains lots of berries and squirel fur. Grizzly Bear scat has bells in it and smells like pepper.

Definitely shopped but funny. :)

Still, the two things I never want to come across in the wild:

-A baby bear
-A baby alligator

Mom and dad, in both instances, don't take too kind to people messing with their young.
Bears are cool. I love seeing them. I might not feel the same way about griz though. Reading in "Undaunted Courage," where it would take 6-7 musket balls to bring one down puts to put the fear of God in ya.

ditto. I've been within 25 or so feet of a black bear eating berries, and been within a hundred yards of a grizz. A hundred yeards doesn't sound close, but try outrunning one and you'll find out it ain't far enough.
