Biased Announcers or what?

Re: Bias Announcers or what?

However, at the end, Musberger just had to bring up our last BCSCG and talk about "how Colt got hurt"...

I seem to recall that he mentioned McCoy's injury in the context of Bama's penchant for hard hitting and physical defenses and not "what if" scenarios.

Chizik I believe had purple pinstrips on that ugly shirt with a gold hankie in the pocket. And lets not forget Erin "the bimbo" Andrews and her purple shirt.

Erin Andrews explained on twitter that it wasn't bias - she was assigned to LSU and Rinaldi to Alabama.

We need to ban these threads because it's like saying that tomatoes don't taste good. It is not factual and it seems that unless the announcers are Bama homers, someone is going to find fault with them.

It's not a Bama victory if the sky is falling crowd doesn't come online and find a nit to pick.

Re: Bias Announcers or what?

I thought the announcers were great. The only issue I had was with Chiz. I think it was sinking pretty low for him to wear a LSU colored tie.

I didn't notice the tie, maybe Auburn colors? But I would grade him as good or better than most coaches I've seen. He predicted who would win and why, and made good original comments on physical and mental areas for the Tide. If he ever gets out of coaching, he has a very good intelligent gentlemanly presentation for television. Light years ahead of Tubby.

Re: Bias Announcers or what?

Musberger spread his comments around, didn't favor one side over the other.
Was once a Musberger "hater", but the last few years of CBS adn Gary "it's all about me" Danielson, have changed that.
As long as it's not Danielson, (or the now retired Bama hater) Bob GREASE, I'm basically happy.
I can even laugh at Vern, if he just didn't have that know it all, only my opinion matters fool, with him.

My biggest gripe is when announcers go back and forth praising the team who happens to be leading, which is a trend this days. At least Brent lets the game play and saves the puttting it on thick to the later stages.

His Tornado bit sounded a little too scripted, which I am sure it was, but some of his comments like "mauling" were accurately descriptive. Plus, anyone who remembers the 80's gets a historically familiar voice that will probably only call games for a few more seasons. I enjoyed listening to him from that angle.

Re: Bias Announcers or what?

I didnt mind the announcers last night. Heck I would rather listen to Oprah and Judge Judy call the game instead of ole Gary and Vern

Re: Bias Announcers or what?

Without a doubt, there was bias in that broadcast. But what was equally as annoying, was listening as Muskrat switched sides towards the end of the 3rd quarter. It was so painfully obvious that he thought and hoped that LSU would win the game, to hear him switch his rah rah to the Tide as it was apparent that we wouldn't take our foot off their throats, made me want to strangle him. I'm sure he thought no one was paying attention. Just go away, Brent. Go away.
