I chased some links off RBR and got to this. Very interesting. Of special note, Alabama is on the Blue-Chip Ratio Risers - already higher than anybody else ever, in 2014, Saban ups it again through 2017. Just amazing.

But there are lots of good metrics here. Look at Florida, sorry Bazza but they are dropping like a stone. Your yearly matchup with State is looking grim.

The article basically says, if you are not in the top-10 list, you stand no chance of a championship.

This looks at the right metric...classes and programs as a whole.

We hear from a lot of people who say recruiting is overrated, and they'll trot out examples of 5-star flops and 2-star All-Americas.

The analogy I like to use is ACT scores. We all know kids who made 34 or higher and flunked out. We all know kids who made 26 and ended up Phi Beta Kappa.

But give me a roomful of 34s, and I'll run academic circles around a roomful of 26s.

I do my own recruiting stats but mine are over 5 years instead of three. Nine of them are the same with the only difference being he has Clemson and I have Texas A&M. I did a lot of research on the BCS championship games and this bears out to be fact. No one else has a chance, especially now that four teams play it off because if you are an Oklahoma State or TCU and you somehow get voter love into the Playoff you now how to "get up" back to back to pull it off ..... and that would be very difficult to play above your talent level ten days later.

I agree. I don't go crazy keeping up with recruiting because I know the attention some of these kids get, both negative and positive, is ridiculous, but it comes as no surprise that getting the best players helps you have the best team.
