Well I have been off enjoying the holiday but #8 is Tyler Love @6-7 280+ he is a ??? as to where he might plug into the line, many think RT but I think he will sub AS at LT since Davis has done alot of work and seemed to be getting alot better at RT, I could be wrond he might step right up and start at RT but we will see.

#7 Was Da'onte (sp) Hightower, he is projected to get his first look at weak-side LB with Reamer the projected starter he could easily move right into some meaningful snaps not only because of his size and speed but we all know Reamer is prone to injury so look for Hightower to play a HUGE role in the LB corps this fall~!~

No mention of Jerrell Harris? Can't help but think he could very well be another Rolo McClain type player for us, especially based on some of the things I've read about him over the summer in work-outs. JMO, but I think he'll be ready and will contribute a lot also.:BigA:

Re: BOL's TOP 10 IMPACT FRESHMEN #8

I kind of think Julio won't be #1 on this list. For one reason, it is predictable. But, second, I really do think we have several others who could make just as big of an impact this year. Here are some thoughts on the remaining six...
The six have to be:
Julio Jones - Top freshman WR in the country at a position with little to no experienced depth.
Burton Scott - Versatile athlete that will contribute on kick and punt returns, and could play WR or CB. However you cut it, he will contribute this year. He could possibly contribute the most due to his special teams and potential two-way skills (not that I think he will play two-ways this year).
Mark Barron - Up until late Spring, he looked to be given a starting safety spot. Woodall's emergence has stifled that a bit, but he still has a great shot to start, and is a sure bet to contribute.
Terrence Cody - Has showed up in shape, and should be vital in goal line situations. Could have a huge impact on the DL, though likely won't start.
Jerrell Harris - One of the two or three most athletic freshmen coming in at a position with little to no depth. He has a very good chance to be starting by the time conference play is in full swing.
Alonzo Lawrence - We have one proven CB on our roster. Our second most proven CB is no longer on the team (Mitchell). Arenas could be very good there, but Lawrence has a great shot to start before the end of the year.

I'll predict:
6. Alonzo Lawrence
5. Mark Barron
4. Terrence Cody
3. Jerrell Harris
2. Julio Jones
1. Burton Scott

A little re-cap #9 was Mt. Cody

#8 was Tyler love

#7 was Da'onta Hightower

Forgot #10 it was a DL though..

Look for Harris and JJ to rain at the top, with the need at LB JH should be #1 but we will see~!~

Marcel Dareus was 10. I forgot about Cody.
I guess we can replace him with Upshaw, Barrett Jones, or Mark Ingram. Probably Upshaw.

my money would be on harris at LB ,as thin as we are at LB . I think he will be a lock, as one of the top incoming freshman

I guess freshman doesn't mean what it used to. When I grew up junior college transfers (e.g. Cody) weren't freshmen.

I noticed they have Cody at number 9; but, his importance to the defense may prove him to be much closer to the top of the list than the bottom. If he can create a lot of concern in the middle, it can make life easier for the new linebackers, and mask some of their deficiencies until they can overcome them.

Re: BOL's TOP 10 IMPACT FRESHMEN #8

I am as pumped as anyone about the outstanding class we have this year. However CNS told a story at a recent breakfast about when he was on Coach Hayes staff at OSU. Coach Hayes stated that for every sophomore started (no freshman played back then) he considered that to be one loss due to experience and maturity factors. Interesting story to tell considering ....

Taking that into consideration but also looking at there is no doubt some "special" rare freshmen talent available to CNS this fall where do we really stand? Reading "Impact" not necessarily mean's "Game One Starter" it is going to be an interesting time leading up to the season and thru September. By October IMHO the issues will be settled ....

My interpretation is that "impact" doesn't necessarily translate into a starter. For example, I think Julio will have the best chance of starting. Jerrell would probably be second. Alonzo Lawrence and Mark Barron would be in there somewhere too.
However, Burton Scott, in my opinion, could have the biggest impact, only because he will likely contribute on offense and also return kicks - that is, he could be a major factor in two units.
I guess I am trying to think of who they might surprise us with. Don't take my comments too seriously.
