Game Thread: Braves Final Homestand vs Mets and Royals

Well folks here we are in the last week of the season and we still have a shot. The injuries have been unbelievable this season but there is still hope to get in the playoffs in one of the 3 wild card spots. There are a lot of teams that would love to be in our position.

Current Standings:
Padres +3.5
Mets +0.5
DBacks ---
Braves -1.5

Remaining Opponents:
Padres 3 @ Dodgers, 3 @ DBacks
Mets 3 @ Braves, 3 @ Brewers
DBacks 2 vs Giants, 3 vs Padres
Braves 3 vs Mets, 3 vs Royals

We have a great shot here. The Padres have a tough week. Hopefully the Padres vs DBacks series at the end knocks one of them out. If we make some noise against the Mets we should be in great position. We are at home and have the pitching set up for the series.

Tue - Severino vs Schwellenbach
Wed - Peterson vs Sale
Thur - Manaea vs Fried

The fact that they are still in the mix and have a legitimate shot at making the postseason with all the injuries this year is just mind boggling. Go Bravos!

Massive amount of injuries and still have a shot at the playoffs.

Its gonna take a miracle though. They need at least 2 out of 3 vs the Mets. The problem I see after that though....the Royals are still fighting for a playoff spot while the Mets play the Brewers who might be resting some starters before the playoff.

The next 6 games could be absolute dog fights.

calling it now Braves go 2-1 against the mets and the one loss will be a really bad loss, like a 1 or 2 hit game bad and the pitcher will have a great game. Sums up the whole year

Is it really that mind boggling when 40% of MLB teams make the postseason? It’s not exactly the accomplishment it used to be with this new stupid format they use.

If the D’backs keep losing then it’s not the only way. We could go 2-1 against the Mets and still potentially be a half game up on the D’backs.

I’m trying not to get too excited because knowing the Braves, they’ll squeak in only to get swept in the WC round.

Braves did a job last night. Harris was fantastic too. His confidence is soaring and may have a big postseason in him. DBacks got smoked.

Good chance tonight's and tomorrow's game get rained out. Potential doubleheader on Monday or some other plan? I thought I heard them mentioning something about a neutral site option during the broadcast but, I was playing video games at the same time and wasn't paying attention. Did anyone hear those comments during the broadcast, was somewhere around the 6/7th inning?
