Birmingham- Montgomery, Alabama attorney Tommy Gallion is being sued by the owners of local restaurant Dreamland for an undisclosed amount, after the owners of the restaurant learned yesterday that Phillip Fulmer would not be attending SEC Media Days in Birmingham. Carl Brown, co-owner of the local restaurant chain, released a statement yesterday claiming Gallion was
responsible for causing "significant financial stress" on his company. Brown
stated: "Gallion basically robbed me of my biggest day of the year in terms
of revenue. Coach Fulmer comes in here every year during Media Days, and my business has counted on Coach Fulmer's visit every year to help this place
make a profit." Brown added: "Last year Coach Fulmer ordered nine (9) full
slabs of ribs, four (4) loafs of white bread, six (6) Diet Cokes, and
two (2) helpings of Chess Pie.....you do the math." Brown is holding
Gallion personally responsible for keeping Fulmer away from Birmingham this
year. "Every other year when Tennessee plays down here I get a double
Fulmer whammy because he stops in during Media Days and before the game. Now because of a few selfish attorneys, I don't get him at all this year and
that will basically kill my business." Gallion, who did not return repeated
calls, was unavailable for comment. Brown went on to say: "Coach Fulmer
loves this place and we love him. We accommodate him in every way. Two
years ago he asked for his ribs to be covered in peanut butter, so I hand
rubbed ten full slabs with Jif Creamy peanut butter and he loved them. We
have had a wonderful relationship over the years and I will miss him. This
is a huge loss for the Dreamland family and I'm holding Gallion
responsible."
