Brodie to the Chiefs

WELL ITS THE CLOSEST YOU CAN GET TO WEARING CRIMSON IN THE NFL.....

I absolutely love this pick, and love having him in KC.........I became a HUGE Chiefs fan when DT was there......and they still hold a place in my heart when they play.......heck i'm still a Browns fan because of Ozzie......so, shows you how things stick with you......

Do you guys remember when the Miami Dolphins had about 6 or 7 Bama players??? (back in the days of Don McNeal, Tony Nathan, Bob Baumhauer (sp?), Joe Carter (the RB), Dwight Stephenson, and then later Bobby Humphrey for a little while, etc.........)......

Anyway, enough rambling...GOOD LUCK BRODIE!! A beautiful stadium to play in.... and the COLORS ARE CLOSE ENOUGH!!!

I dont know, the falcons or the bucs are a pretty close red too , lol.

Count me as one of the KC fans that LOVE this pick. One of the local boards I frequent has fans touting this as a great pick as well. Best of both worlds, watching Brodie play for the Tide now get to watch him develop here for the Chiefs.

My only concern is the Chiefs and their horrible track record with drafting QB's. Brodie has the talent to shake that off if the Chiefs don't bungle it.

I'm glad, too. Been a Chiefs fan since the Hank Stram days when a couple guys from my high school (Lanett) played for him. Unfortunately, they played their college ball at Auburn. Bobby Hunt, a DB eventually went to Cincinnati in teh expansion draft, but Dave Hill, an OT, started on the Chiefs team that beat the Vikes in the Super Bowl.

Anyhoo....go, Brodie.

Not sure what he's doing now, but Dave Hill is a member of a church in Moody, Alabama, a town outside of Birmingham. Met him several years ago.

Brodie says he weighs 210 now, and I don't see how he could not gain 10 more by the time he has to report to camp. Of course he couldn't do it in two years at Bama, but maybe he'll be pushed more now.

though I wish he would have ended up in Tampa, my brother is a huge Chiefs fan(has been since the DT days)... And they are my 2nd fav. team(fav. in the AFC)...

Honestly, thought I may in fact be changing teams, I love Tampa, have for years, but the first line of bad luck was them cutting my fav. player John Lynch, then last year signing Carnell(its still hard to root for a Barner :mad2: ) and now the Chiefs have Brody...

who have the bucs drafted? 2 Off. linemen and a receiver from ND :frown:

what the hell? I know we need O-linemen, but don't use your 1st pick on one with all of the good players they had to choose from...

A #12 Chiefs jersey will look very cool. I think I am going to have to get myself one of those. Here's hoping to Brodie getting some early playing time.

Local papers (KC) say that if Brodie plays well coming in that he could have a good shot at being the 2nd QB once the season starts. After Trent Green, the back up spots are all new QB's to the team. KC and Bama play similar offenses so that will only help Brodie.

Very few #2 qb's in the history of the game like Huard. Six starts in 10 years.

On the other hand, they just interviewed Trent Green about his thoughts on mentoring a young quarterback.

Turns out, there is no Green in Team.

How many Super Bowls has Green won?

Brodie is never going to settle for being a back-up to anyone.

He will make it by year three or forget about it.

I saw that same interview. Green says he's not going to seek out anyone. It'll be up to Brodie to seek him out and if he does, he'll help him all he can. I have no doubts that Brodie will ask as many questions as he needs to do to help his learning process. Plus, Herm Edwards will do all he can to bring him along.

Trent Green has been in the NFL 13 years. There is no way he should do anything except everything he possibly can to help a rookie quarterback that makes the team.

He's worried about the competition for the position in a year or two?

That's a given. He needs to worry more about winning, and less about competition for the starting job.

I take that back. Trent Green is in double digits in interceptions every year. He should worry about his job NOW.

As a die-hard Tide fan and new Chiefs season ticket holder (as of three weeks ago), I couldn't be happier. Trent Green is stand-up guy and I believe he'll ultimately be a solid mentor for Brodie. The Chiefs have sorely needed a plan for their long-term QB needs (Trent probably has two more good years, max) and I think they have one now. Go Chiefs and Roll Tide!
