CBS Sports Writer Dennis Dodds: Sooners to Defeat Tide for Title

All you have to know about Dodd's objectivity is that he wrote a column in 2012 of how a four-team playoff would have changed football. He actually managed to strip us in fantasy of both national titles, including having us lose to Texas because in his fantasy Colt doesn't get hurt.

So who cares what he thinks. Here's the article I'm taking about

I don't care what he personally thinks, but he is a representative of cbs sports--an entity that has a huge financial stake with our conference. Interpret it however you want, but given That connection I find this rather interesting. And bringing to light more bulletin board material doesn't hurt.

I am not going to even bother clicking on that trash. I thought Oklahoma would beat Clemson handily. Now that all the "experts" are picking the Sooners to win it all, I think Clemson will beat them by double digits.

I don't have your memory Selma, but I remember that.

You would never know that CBS had a relationship with the SEC...if you listened to their analysts. Remember Tim Brando was their main guy. It has always been that way. We ironically get more "love" from ESPN (Kirk, Finebaum...Mark May...etc)

That may be, but they do--to the tune of millions of dollars. Not sure what the total contract is worth, but I assure you that it is substantial.

My dream would be for every sports analyst to pick us to lose big to each and every team we play. I know once the game starts that stuff goes out the window, but I want our guys preparing like they have something to prove.

Yeah, i'm thinking Clemson will beat them as well. I'm thinking Watson is going to give them fits.

I remember this, but back in the real world where birds fly, Bama won 2 out of 3 and 3 out of 4.

He's a columnist, paid to give his opinion. The fact that his company has a stake in the SEC has nothing to do with it. Besides, he didn't say we were stealing babies, he said he thinks Oklahoma will beat us. Other folks are writing the very same thing.

Everybody take a deep breath and repeat after me: Who cares?

DD has frequently tried to mock Alabama, our fans, the south . . . anything to get a rise out of Bama fans in order to get clicks.

Don't bother helping him out by clicking the link.

Totally agree. Not everybody is going to pick Alabama to win. OU has a great team this year. We'll have to play our best game to beat them IF we beat Michigan State.

I know this is a fan board and we can look forward to Oklahoma and yada, yada, yada.. but we've got business to take care of first. For that matter, so does OU.

I have red about 20 different sports writers' predictions for the playoffs, and NONE have picked Alabama to win it all. Now, none were from the Southeast, but that is still startling. Have you guys come across articles with a writer picking Alabama to win it all?

To be clear, most are picking Alabama to beat MSU, but they expect Alabama to lose to Oklahoma (and a few to Clemson).

Mark Schlabach predicted us two months ago.

Tim Brando - believe it or not - picked us to win it all back on April 21.

Brando has maintained this position on Twitter in recent days as well while pointing out Mich St is not a pushover.

Steve Lassan picked us two days ago.
