Alabama held Ole Miss and Texas A&M to under 75 rushing yards, and more to everyone else. But there’s one problem with that - the other side.

Kentucky is 6-0 when allowing fewer than 100 rushing yards, 0-3 when it doesn’t. Texas A&M held Bama to 23 yards, but got ripped apart by the Tide deep shots. No one else has been close to keeping down the Bama O.

Kentucky will play its game and keep Alabama from going off for a half, and then it’ll take one big play to open things up. The Tide D won’t be dominant, but it’ll force field goals instead of touchdowns.

Alabama vs Kentucky Prediction Game Preview

I'll take it!

I’m thinking that LSU’s terrible defense made us all feel better about the Bama offense than is deserved. LSU is ranked 90th in total defense; Kentucky is in the low 40s. I expect this game to be closer than any of us want. Bama 31; UK 20 with a bit of hand wringing going into the 4th.

I am hopeful this offense continues to develop and we can score on at least 5 possessions so maybe 31 points. Then we shut down the run and get a pick 6.
Alabama 38
UK 17

This week will tell us if the lsu game was fools gold. UK isn’t great, but they are sound. They are in no way a pushover.

Seeing reports that Leary may not be available after injuries last week. We really don't need this win devalued. I hope he plays.

I don't think Kentucky is really all that good.

Look at their schedule - and tell me whom they've actually beaten that's any good. The one quasi-surprise I guess is Florida, a program in search of meaning but still substantially more talented than UK.

Having said that, while I don't think they can beat us, I DO think the game will be closer - for most of the game - than it should. I say this for two reasons:

1) Alabama is coming off an extremely emotional win (aka "the letdown")
2) the game is on the road in the SEC (sans Vandy)

In other words, what should probably be a general blowout is likely - likely - to be a closer game than expected through three quarters. Basically, Arkansas all over again and for largely the same reason(s).

Isn’t (wasn’t) Mettenberger on our staff? Sorry…that brought up a fond memory…
His wife ,Mary Whisenhunt, is HAWT, Smoke Show. Worth a Google

Don’t forget that LSU is a bit of a rivalry game though.

Kentucky shouldn't be able to score much. I'd be shocked if they scored in the 20s. The question is what is our offense?

I'm going with they've turned a corner and we'll win by a score of something like 35-13
