Well, look how they played against an extremely overrated Georgia team. They looked like garbage. They play well against the mediocre ACC, until they don't. They also looked like garbage against Louisville. Miami is better than Texas also, so there's also that. I wouldn't be shocked if Miami wins the whole thing. Their offense is that good.
I mean, Miami hasn't played a single ranked team...

Doesn't matter. They have the best player in the country by a large margin, and can put up points faster than you can blink. They were losing to Duke in the 4th qtr, and still covered the 20 pt spread. That's highly impressive. There's no doubt in my mind they'd beat Georgia on a neutral field.
LOL UGA would wipe the floor with Miami.

Nah Georgia won't even beat Ole Miss or Tech. Everyone is rating them based on 2 years ago. Every time I've watched them, I've not been impressed. They couldn't even beat Milroe lol. Cam Ward will eat them for breakfast.

Bruh, it was Duke...

Never mind.

Yeah, but Florida is actually a pretty decent team, and they wiped the floor with them. Georgia came close to losing to them with their 3rd string QB. So when you compare performance against common opponents, Miami is more impressive than Georgia. Miami has probably just gotten bored in the ACC and that's why their games are closer. But you got to see against Duke what they could do when they really turn it on.

I think we have seen that this is not just something a team can just decide to do in a vacuum, with 100% success. or Alabama would not have two losses. There is another team on the field with the capacity to disrupt intent.

Alabama doesn't have Cam Ward, though. If we had Ward instead of Milroe, we probably would be undefeated, especially knowing how our games went. When the game is on the line, he takes over.

There should be ZERO auto-bids, period.
In 2018 Pitt played Clemson in the ACC championship game. Pitt was already 7-5 going into that game and did lose pretty badly if I recall. An injury combined with a few wrong bounces of the ball and the results could have been different. Stranger things have happened.

Now just imagine that happening this year but Pitt wins...we would have an 8-5 team in the playoffs due to the automatic bid for the conf champs. While it's not likely to happen it re-enforces your opinion about ZERO auto-bids.

Stating the obvious, but they made the 4 highest conference champs the 4 highest seeds to spread out the conferences to reach the semifinals. They don’t want 2 SEC and 2 BIG in the final four.

You call this taking over the game. I call it playing with fire.

Cam Ward is not an I WIN button, which will be shown as soon as Miami faces actual competition.

SMU may not have enough, but the playoff field will show what they are made of.

Maybe not, but in a year with zero elite teams, he gives them as good a shot as anybody to win the natty. if we are talking about frauds from the ACC, 2023 FSU immediately comes to mind. I have much more trust in a team that wins their games 50-40 (Miami), than a team that wins their games 13-10 (FSU). Miami can score points in bunches, and that gives them a shot against every team they play. Clemson has proven it is possible to come from an extremely weak concern and still be competitive in the CFP. Note that I never said Miami was going to win the national title. I said it wouldn't shock me if they did. My actual prediction for them is the Final 4. However, in a year with no elite teams, I do think having a QB who has consistently proven he can step up when he's needed most, is going to be very valuable, so Cam Ward gives them a shot, and that's all any team needs, is a shot

While the VT game ending call was strange it was probably the right one. However, Miami certainly lost to Cal. There was clear/textbook targeting at the end of that game on Cal’s last drive. They would have closed out the game. But they didn’t call it even after a pitiful review, gave Miami the ball back, and let them win it.

I feel like Miami is last years Florida state. 1 player injury away from disaster.
