Does not matter. Can't change it now, and next year's committee won't care about this year's results.Unfortunately they will use the UT blowout to justify the scores for IU and SMU...but the circumstances are not the same..the "but look at the SEC team getting smoked" will be the narrative...

Disagree....last years exclusion of FSU definitely played into what they did this year...Does not matter. Can't change it now, and next year's committee won't care about this year's results.
I think the decision to take Alabama over FSU last year may have influenced this committee’s decision insofar as it involved Alabama. I think the perception of favoritism towards Alabama again might have influenced the decision to take SMU over Alabama this year. “We can’t put in a three loss Bama over a two loss SMU, strength of schedule be damned. We’ll get roasted for playing favoritesâ€Â.Disagree....last years exclusion of FSU definitely played into what they did this year...
Maybe, but I do not think so.Disagree....last years exclusion of FSU definitely played into what they did this year...
So is running up to the line of scrimmage to run plays before the referee gets set, but here we areAnother fake injury.
It allows them extra time to call a play on third down. It’s a chicken….way to gain additional time.
There was no D1 football team beating Ohio State last night. Can they play with that same emotion and intensity again? We’ll see. They were dominant last night. The problem I see with Tennessee laying an egg , now all the others that got blown out will say they just played a bad game like the SEC team. Play bad and anyone can get blown out By a good team.
Everyone knows their decision making process was a shamThey still are. Look at all the blogs & articles out there today trying to convince people that they got it right, despite the overwhelming evidence contradicting that. At least Herbstreit has been brutally honest about the situation.
They looked a little like a kid's "onesie"...No, but we are doing a lot of untraditional things with our uniforms lately that I don't like. SMH
Oh they will and already are.Unfortunately they will use the UT blowout to justify the scores for IU and SMU...but the circumstances are not the same..the "but look at the SEC team getting smoked" will be the narrative...
If we don’t beat Michigan, this argument against Pretendiana disappears though.Oh they will and already are.
The thing about Tennessee is they weren’t really one of the 3 best teams in the SEC.
I do think the SEC was the best overall league. It’s insane to think Indiana would have been 9-3 playing the schedules of Alabama, Ole Miss, or South Carolina. Still, Indiana would probably have beaten Vanderbilt or Oklahoma, or Kentucky and maybe even Florida. But they would have never beaten Georgia, Texas, or perhaps even Tennessee.
Alabama would probably go 12-0 playing SMU’s schedule. SMU is probably 7-5 playing Alabama’s. But the college football universe, media, fans, etc., is so toxic that there was no way that committee was leaving SMU out.
Back to my first point, Tennessee wasn’t one of the three best teams in the SEC. They played Alabama and Georgia, and avoided all the other teams in the top half of the conference. We completely wet the bed against them. Georgia handled them. They lost to a bad Arkansas team and struggled with Florida and Kentucky. They can judge the conference by that performance against Ohio State, but it was not a surprise to me at all. And it could have been a balmy 80 degrees and the result would have been the same.
Maybe Ohio State is the best team in the country or maybe it’s Oregon. But the Big Ten was not as deep as the SEC. They may have the best overall team, but shouldn’t have gotten the most bids.
For the record, I have maintained all year that Tennessee was not a good team. The only decent team they beat was Alabama , and we were in a funk during that stretch. I still would like to know exactly what happened those 6 games. Anyway, back to the thread
Hahahaha, the volnation thread melt is hilarious...

They were the 1st 4th Seed to win the Playoff and could now be the 1st 8th Seed to win the Playoff.
