I mean he lowered his head, had no eye contact on his target, and went headfirst into the ballcarrier with almost zero contact with any other part of his body. That’s basically the rulebook.I guess it goes down to who you want to win if that is targeting or not.
only mitigating factor (that isn’t in the rules) for me is that the other Clemson player laying out between him and the ballcarrier prevented him from completing a tackle. You can see his right arm flailing where he wanted to wrap up but couldn’t reach because he never followed through with the hit.
