Game Thread: CFP NCG: LSU vs Clemson (7pm CST | ESPN)

Yeah, I didn't like earlier how Herbie acted like LSU owns the SECW now with Tua leaving. Mac Jones and Bryce Young aren't chopped liver.

I think this is just the media trying to drum up another dynasty as if it was easy for Alabama to have one. Just because LSU won, doesnt mean they're about to start dominating. Auburn and FSU were for the most part one year wonders and with Clemson, they're not necessarily a dynasty, they're more like Urban's Florida teams.

My observations about us this year and from watching LSU and Clemson get after each other's Quarterbacks, is that when you are chasing the QB you upset that teams game plan.
I've said all year that we needed to be on their QBs to prevent them having time to find receivers. to force earlier throws ect...
In particular I watched Clemson's Defensive line and what they did to get into LSU's backfield.
There are ideas here that we could add to our arsenal.
So LSU rolling up 600 yards of offense is Clemson upsetting their game plan?

I just don’t know if I can trust our defense. The tail end of this season, plus last season, has scarred me and we don’t seem to plan on doing anything different or have any players who can help outside Moses.
If our LB can stay healthy it’ll be night and day. Remember, Bama won a NC with DM as a 2nd game starter, true freshman, and roughly 5th string.

Clemson and Dabo have been humbled!!!

I guess the “Favor of God” took a detour.

No, per rule it was targeting. Now there is a good debate as to whether or not it should be.
Yeah, there's no doubt it was targeting as called in today's game. I just think the rule is terrible because it only punishes the defense and is too punitive. I agree cheap shots should be penalized, but just hard hits should not, in my opinion. Clearly, many folks lean towards basketball on grass and 7 on 7 ball, which is fine. Two of the three playoff games had big moments in which targeting helped one offense and punished the other defense for a solid hit. It is what it is, as the saying goes.
I see LSU took the title. Burrow made some great plays in the face of some pressure. Congrats to the Tigahs.

I hope this opens the eyes of the committee. All conferences are not created equal and the ACC has regressed to where it was during the 60s and 70s. Clemson has no competition week in and week out, The ACC is not the only conference lacking the PAC 12 has sank to new lows that I think are historic. The Big 12 has also slipped. The Big Ten have been steady and probably OSU was hosed in the Clemson game with the targeting call. The SEC especially the SEC West have consistently held their own and are the standard for championships.

Clemson was an undefeated defending national champion.

Anyone here saying, "Clemson didn't belong in the playoff," better never complain about 1966.

Ever.

That was a fun game. I'm really glad LSU won and I was wrong about this game.

Trevor Lawrence had the worst game I've seen from him.

Burrow once again played lights out. Bengals fans probably feel great right now and they should
