Game Thread: CFP NCG: LSU vs Clemson (7pm CST | ESPN)

He's a player and does a lot of little things well, but I don't think his accuracy is great. He does have guts, though, and so does Burrow.
He really needs to work on his accuracy...windows in the NFL are very small...He was throwing to NFL receivers and couldn't hit them. By the 4th quarter he was really pressing...a good player and a good athlete, but not yet a pro QB.

Clemson was an undefeated defending national champion.

Anyone here saying, "Clemson didn't belong in the playoff," better never complain about 1966.

Ever.
I don't think he was saying they didn't belong, of course they belonged...it's just that maybe this opened some eyes to the reality that the ACC is the 6th best conference in a Power 5 world...

Trust me. Be glad as an Alabama fan you don`t live in Louisiana if they know you`re one. The LSU fans are borderline insufferable when LSU is just mediocre, I can`t imagine what it`s like this morning. I`ll bet Tim Brando`s so obnoxious right now it`s unbelievable.

I live in Louisiana and it's already started for me this morning. Literally on the walk in to the building from the parking lot. I would have rather Clemson won. It is going to be a miserable offseason all the way up to when we play them. People just don't realize how insufferable LSU people can be. They really don't...

Not going to lie. I underrated Burrow. I kept waiting for someone to actually hit him in the mouth. Clemson did that and he just came back. Incredible season. Arguably the best single season by a QB ever? I still don't understand how he improved so much in one year. Bengals have their guy for the foreseeable future.

I was told David Pollack sent out a tweet that ticked a lot of people off. Something to the effect of "You mean to tell me an Alabama team that barely had any healthy players came closer to beating LSU than anyone else?"

The said reality is Clemson is a worthy and deserving championship caliber team. But their path to the playoff is embarrassingly easier than most Power 5 conferences. Herbie during pre-game acknowledged it and followed it with "and I've got two kids who go to Clemson". It's just unfortunate other equally deserving teams have a tougher road to hoe than Clemson.

I just watched the new SEC shorts video on facebook. They gave grades out to each team to end the season. It was funny. Wish they would have added Clemson in there, losing.

True about Clemson. This is why I selfishly would like a 6 team playoff... Bama would be in it just about every year even if we lost to LSU or Auburn during the season. I know it is selfish, but I want Bama in every year!

"The dogs bark but the caravan moves on..." Arab proverb told to Billy Graham by one of his associates when he was getting kickback over having integrated conferences. Just let 'em bark -- smile and move on -- we will get payback next year in Baton Rouge, I have no doubt.

but as they say, if if's and but's were candy and nuts ...

Yet they drop us to #13 after our two losses. After it all plays out you really get to see how credible the rankings were at the end of the season. Oklahoma had no business in the playoffs and we had no business being at #13.

Is it fair to say that in the end the only real team that had a chance to beat LSU was Bama with a healthy Tua?
I could have told them all that long before we had to go through all of this nonsense. Of course, we don't really know how Ohio State would have done, had they not gotten screwed by the refs against Clemson. I suspect it would have been similar to last night but I do think Ohio State was better built to compete.

But Alabama, even with our decimated defense, was probably the 2nd best team, and would have given LSU everything it wanted and then some last night. Especially if Tua hadn't gotten hurt against MSU.

Burrow is something special. He hit lot of throws that most QBs can't make... (Except for Tua :)) Burrow will do well in NFL. But here's the harsh reality for LSU Fans. If it was any other qb in that offense... They would've had lot of 3 and outs on that field yesterday. LSU will not be back on that field next year.

Also, I saw few things where I was screaming to the tv last night, " LSU is gonna throw the ball to him..." but I don't know how the guys on the field didn't know that.
