The only reason anyone ever knew about the attack on Paul Pelosi is because he was married to the Speaker of the House at the time.
the dude was targeting rep. pelosi, but she wasn't home

San Francisco police arrested DePape at the scene. He planned to take Speaker Nancy Pelosi hostage and interrogate her. Prosecutors believed the attack to be politically motivated. DePape, a Canadian immigrant to the United States, had a history of mental health issues and drug abuse. Before the attack, he had embraced various far-right conspiracy theories, including QAnon, Pizzagate, and Donald Trump's false claims of a stolen election in 2020. Online, he made conspiratorial, racist, sexist, and antisemitic posts, and pushed COVID-19 vaccine misinformation. His blog also contained delusional thoughts[7][8]. At his subsequent trial, DePape testified that he was motivated by conspiracy theories and had hatched a "grand plan" to target Speaker Pelosi and others.

Btw...did you know that maybe just maybe Charlie Kirk wasn't killed???

I won't link it - in some cases I cannot - but I became aware of this two days ago, a right-wing conspiracy theory that makes QAnon look normal.

There's this colossal clown who began engaging me online back in 2007, and it took me awhile to figure out, well, he's insane and probably ought to be locked up so he doesn't subsist on a diet of paint chips and arsenic dip. His KJV being the only Bible was bad enough. But he later went with Jesuit conspiracies tampering with Bible manuscripts, all six moon landings were fake, 9/11 inside job, vaccines kill us, nuclear bombs never existed....and then two days ago I come across his links to "Charlie Kirk isn't really dead."

I. Can't. Even.
apparently steve bannon and candace owens are making noises about stuff like this

Possibly so, but he actually did condemn the violence. The claim by the person was he didn't, when he did. Now granted, he may have since done or said stupid stuff to take away from the original gesture. But I don't like when people make claims that are blatant lies that can be easily found out. It just continues to prove to me the difference between a Republican and a Democrat in today's political climate is about as different as a person looking in a mirror. They're basically the same people.
Which goes to the problem of speaking out of both sides if his mouth. Sure, they all do it, to an extent. But no one has been a bigger offender than trump. Not even close.

Incidentally, we're up to Day 7 in Heather Held Hostage, Richardson's defiant refusal to admit exactly who the shooter of Charlie Kirk was. She mentioned the shooting while favorably quoting the Democratic Party's Satan VI, Karl Rove, so it's not like she didn't have time to, you know, GET IT RIGHT.

You can't call yourself a "historian" and then not tell the ACTUAL FACTS OF HISTORY, folks, I don't care how many initials you have after your name. "History is supposed to make us uncomfortable" apparently doesn't apply if your ideology holds you hostage.

By the way, she's now going with the American aphorism "lone gunman" to get around "guy who wasn't a conservative Republican killing Kirk" pretense she had a week ago.

When the rubber meets the road, you separate the agenda setters from the objective, and it ain't hard.

Why is there always a not really dead conspiracy?

HCR has been trying really hard for while now to make up for the fact she is nothing more than a nepo baby.

Because the National Enquirer can just do a search and replace on older articles on Elvis, Marilyn, JFK, Bat Boy...

This reminds me.

Way back in 1979, my mother introduced me to the assassination of President Kennedy. That's pretty heavy for a nine-year-old, especially when Oswald was shot two days later and she informs me she saw it when it happened.

So Mom then tells me that way back in 1963, there were all of these theories out there about Kennedy. I didn't hear these elsewhere until years later but they included:
- JFK survived the shot but as a vegetable and back then there was no 25th amendment
- and then later, Jackie and Ari Onassis dumped the still living JFK's body into a body of water
- a Secret Service weapon discharged and killed him (an idiot wrote this theory in "Mortal Error" in 1992)
- Kennedy wasn't actually the guy in the limo
- Johnson also died and a body double replaced him
- Connally hired Oswald but was accidentally shot

This doesn't include all of the Oliver Stone level stuff.

Every time I mention to her some new angle on another conspiracy out there, she'll tell me "heard it, they said that about Kennedy." And almost always, she's right.

but don't get me started on Jim Morrison.......

some folks may need to do a lot of laundry to clean up those bloody shirts they've been waving

One person familiar with the federal investigation said that “thus far, there is no evidence connecting the suspect with any left-wing groups.”

“Every indication so far is that this was one guy who did one really bad thing because he found Kirk’s ideology personally offensive,” this person continued.

In addition, two of the people familiar with the probe said it may be difficult to charge Robinson at the federal level for Kirk’s killing, while the third source said there is still an expectation that some kind of federal charge is filed against Robinson.
