I know this is a Bama board and we don't give a flip about Auburn but I think they are making a mistake. I don't know of anyone who would be willing to coach there that could do much better down there than he did. Thoughts?

I have to agree with you. Who wants to coach a team with 6 or 7 lousy seniors and NCAA troubles?

I dont know anybody who would want to DRIVE through that crap-hole, much less coach there or play there. Its a shame, too, 'cause Cliff was the only coach Ive ever liked from Auburn. I like him from his USA days. I hope he gets a job at a real school where he can show what a good coach he is.

awburn sure is looking bad these days. They could have really had one up on Bama if they did not have rogue boosters calling the shots.

I too believe Ellis is a good coach. His record is one of the best in the business, that tells you enough to know he's a pretty darn good coach. Of course, it makes allbarn look bad.

Don't put the Barn down,Albarn has a lot of money, if they get the right AD and then spend the money, they COULD get a big name Coach. The right Coach could put BAMA Basketball in a hole. Be careful for what you wish for.

I wouldn't be surprised if they try and get UAB's coach. Anderson has plenty of experience coaching in the SEC.

I'll say this about Cliff Ellis.

He's a good man, and a good coach. I liked him when he was at South Alabama under AD Joe Gottfried (Mark's dad). It's too bad this has happened to him. I guarantee you that the illegal recruiting is almost 100% booster involvement.

Don't be surprised if Tuberville is not around after next season...
