Its been a long time since I have posted here but what keeps coming to my mind is the biggest mistake of the past 8 years. This would be the decision to hire Coach Dumbose as HC. Bill Oliver screwed himself out of a job by trying to stab Coach Stallings in the back and then head off to AU. I knew when Mike dubose was listed as the top "contender" we were in BIG trouble. If you look at the team today be sure to remember that Coach Shula is dealing with situation that has been out of control since Mike Dumbose and maybe in these trying times it should be noted that even though we are not posting wins or even looking that great, we have seemed to turn the corner with respect to what I see as the total team concept.
We have a young bunch of kids trying and playing their hearts out. We also have just gotten off what could be considered one of the hardest hitting NCAA sanctions besides the SMU case. We may not win much this year but just remember, you cant be on top every year. We need to rebuild and were in the same group as Notre Dame, Penn State, Nebraska and a few other former powers. We need to be patient and if im not mistaken, Shula has only coached 17 games as a HC. Lets understand were Alabama things may look a bit bleak, but I do see improvements in areas.
