SWEET! Living in DFW I like it! Someone please correct me if I am wrong: But arent we playing Texas Tech in 2012 in Dallas as well; maybe 2011?

Either way, the DFW and surrounding areas are a hotbed for top recruits and games like this will only help attract top talent from the area.

I would rather get a home-away matchup and travel to the Big House. However, a game in the Jerry dome does pretty cool. And I love these big out of conference matchups.

I grew up in the Foley/Gulf Shores area, but have lived in Dallas for 12 years. I have been to Cowboy Stadium and actually went there for the Crimson Caravan to hear Saban speak a few months back. There is NO DOUBT that this IS part of Saban's master plan, just as playing in Georgia was the last couple years. Cowboy's Stadium is quite a site and the big screen is hard to comprehend without seeing it in person. This would be a great thing for Alabama Football and a great in-road into Texas recruits. YES, Uncle Julio's is still open and the food is still great as well as the margaritas. This will be a great start to the 2012 Football Season.

I think Texas Tech was one of several teams mentioned for a possible game at Cowboys Stadium, and it appears it's now going to be Michigan.

I hope and pray that Coach Rod and Rita are still around for this beating.
I would hope that they're still there so I could shake Rita's hand, and personally thank her over and over again!!!

RTR!!!

Bring 'em own, them Wolverines........that would mean a BIG pay day $$$$ for Bama/SEC in that 100,000+++ venue that Jerry built!

I think it's 'bout time Bama showed the Big 10 some of our fire-power too!

Does anyone know if we still have an away game scheduled with Tulane in 2012?

Sounds great. We"ll get yet another chance to wreck a media hyped Heisman hopefuls chances.

Awesome
Thanks to all those who've been making these great OCC games happen, thanks. Great for the fans of college football for games like this to be played. Wish it was a home/home like Bama -vs- Penn St. is, but playing in a state of Texas is great too. Both Bama & Michigan will love the opportunity to showcase their programs in that rich HS state.

I've got no problems with Bama scheduling games like this between two programs with such rich histories. I hope Michigan is going strong before this game is played too. Sure that increases the possibility of losing, but there's whole bunch to gain playing a game like that. The exposure alone is just priceless to start off the season.

Am I correct in saying that we have Western Kentucky or someone similar scheduled for the first game in 2012? I wonder if we will move that game around or the Bama/Michigan game will be placed in the second or third week of that year :conf3:

One of the problems with scheduling neutral site games is the TV rights. Most conferences have in their TV contracts that the TV rights, for games played "within the conference footprint" by conference teams, have to be given to that conferences team. Notre Dame ran into the problem when they decided to start "barnstorming" again; the Irish envisioned playing Texas at Dallas, Florida and FSU at Jacksonville, among others as the home team, with the home field advantage and broadcast rights. It didn't work out for ND - that's why they played aTm in Jacksonville. Besides, I'd rather play Meeeeeeeeeeeshigan anyway. Do you feel lucky Rich Rod? Well, do ya?!?:pDT_gun:
