Interesting. Patterson was a hot name for a while there, but wasn’t able to sustain.

We’ll know how “mutual” it is when we know how much of his buyout he gets.

I know TCU is a private school and doesn’t have to disclose, but those things have a way of getting out.
From what I read he was asked to stay on as head coach until the season is over, but declined. Then he came in to work on Monday to make sure they didn't need any help with the game plan for this weekend. Not sure what to make of that.

Gary Patterson had some good defenses at TCU. I wonder if he would be interested at this point in his life in being a coordinator again…..
He has always run a 4 man front. Schematically, Nick Saban runs the 3/4 even if we are in Nickle and what looks like a 4 man front a lot of the time.

I could see him in some support role, but as DC? I don't see it. Plus we already have a great up and coming DC anyway.

I know everybody WANTS to win, but some of these programs just need to realize that they CAN'T in D1 and need to move back down in order to be competitive.
We are still shaking our heads about the UNA move from D2 but I guess the Athletic Department decided going from the D2 Penthouse to the D1 Outhouse for budget payoffs as a homecoming game for legit D1 programs made sense.
