Coaching Carousel 2021

  • Hi Guest, we are working on updating the site servers and software. We're also 'forcing' everyone to read and agree to our site privacy policy and terms of service. There are no significant changes to either of these but the terms page does clarify a few things that are mostly in the legalese. You can just click the checkbox for both and continue using the site as usual! We'll update you more on the site upgrades VERY soon! THANK YOU AS ALWAYS for supporting the site and being an active participant!

It must not be about the money for Cristobal:

I think we've known that all along, though.

Oregon has always been able to outbid Miami.

But Mario is a former UM player, his sick mother lives there, his brother lives there. I'm sure he relishes the chance to return them to glory.

And he's an ace recruiter that has relationships in the area. He really might be the guy that can bring Miami back to the forefront of the ACC.

Doubtful. He might get them in the ACCCG once in 4 years but the Miami media and their 30 fans will run him off because he doesn’t win like Jimmy

Let’s put it this way: Miami must feel Cristabol is a done deal because they would be idiots to can Diaz without it.
Yes Miami has fallen on hard times and it isn’t the job it once was. But things people fail to consider: Mario is a former player at Miami, a hell of a recruiter, and more talent in that south Florida area than you can “shake a stick at”. Additionally, it was mentioned during the game with Utah Friday night he had been back & forth to Miami to see his elderly mother. Maybe it was just time “to go home”?
Do I think he’s the guy to restore their program? Maybe. Quite frankly I’ve been a little underwhelmed with what he has accomplished at Oregon, given the facilities and talent he has brought in the last few years. Yep…pulls the upset on tOSU then loses to Stanford and twice throttled by Utah. The jury is still out in my opinion.

Edit: guess they aren’t idiots - done deal.

If Miami is able to pull Radakovich as reported, that would be a coup and would make me believe they're taking this rebuild seriously.
The fact that they hired a football coach without an AD should tell you that they are not. The University of Miami is in Coral Gables and only cares about keeping people out of their little secluded community. That’s why they play at the Dolphins stadium to begin with.
