So I guess this means Auburn will end up fighting Arkansas for whatever coaching scraps are left over from LSU, Florida, and PSU. It’d sure be entertaining for the Waltons and Yella Fella to get into a bidding war.

I really thought they’d hold onto Freeze for a while and fire him at a more opportune time, but I guess I was giving the boogs too much credit.

Lane to the gators or stay put.
Agreed. If you have your choice of jobs with eight-figure annual incomes, why would you subject yourself to the LSU or barn level of dysfunction and booster / politician meddling?

I'm fully aware that no coach is fully insulated from that stuff. But LSU, the barn, UTw, and to a lesser extent aTm, take it to an entirely different level.

I'm sure Kiffin has a tad of that in Oxford, and would in Gainesville. But nowhere near the level of LSU or the barn.

I could make logical arguments for either Oxford or Gainesville. Not the other two places.

So far, with basically another month until the regular season ends, we have eleven FBS coaches canned. There are probably at least five more at high risk of a similar fate. Either the Jimbos, Brian Kellys and Freezes get recycled or a bunch of programs are going to be overpaying for the Sumralls, Laslees, and Chadwells of G5.

He would be the same level of problem he was at A&M, maybe some less. At A&M Jimbo has unlimited resources, bought all the top recruits, and every season underperformed. Of course he did beat Bama once so he has to be considered, and to me, he actually seems exactly like the coach auburn generally hires.

This would be the year that Jimbo would resurface somewhere. Will be interesting if the money he is getting paid not to coach will keep him from entering the fray.
