Interesting move. They're not gonna let Pete hire his own guys? I get wanting to keep things together so the committee doesn't try to make Ole Miss the fall guy if BYU defeats Texas Tech and UGA beats Bama, but doubling the salaries is more of a long term decision. Pete is well respected within the coaching community so he might very well be a better head coach than a DC, but it's definitely not gonna work if he's being micromanaged like this.

Unless Mullen has changed his attitude toward recruiting I'd stay away from him. He's known for lazy recruiting.

My prediction from 2 hours ago that Golding would be the next HC quickly came true. Like I said, probably for Ole Miss it's the best they can do. No big name coach wants to go there.

That very well could happen. After this circus, it can only help to get Kiffin out of there. And is sounds like the players are unhappy with Kiffin, so they might just play with an extra chip on their shoulder now. I think they win at least 1 game if not more.

I dont care how much money they have it is absolutely a drain on their resources. Still paying the Ogre, paying Brian Kelley and his staff and now paying Kiffin and the financial promises for staff and NIL is sucking a ton of capital. They are definitely feeling it.
