Pate takes OU and GMac picks Bama. Pate doubles down on what he says on First Take this morning.Pretty sure it's in his contract that he has to go along with their attempts to create controversy. He was singing a completely different tune on his own show.
If I'm an independent party Im picking OU. They're playing at home, they have one of the best defenses in the country, we have one of the worst offensive lines in the country, with zero running game. If I'm not a fan I'm expecting OU to win by 8-12 points.Pate takes OU and GMac picks Bama. Pate doubles down on what he says on First Take this morning.
Corner Canyon HS is waiting until after tonight's game to contact CKD about their vacant HC position...Weber State has hired one of the top HS coaches in the country...

Corner Canyon's Eric Kjar named head football coach at Weber State
One of the most successful high school football coaches in the state of Utah is getting called up.www.ksl.com
Corner Canyon HS is about a mile from my house. Really beautiful school and stadium and views. Indoor practice facility... all the things. He's won 6 of last 8 state titles in top division, including two 3-peats. 112-10 overall record. They played in the first ever HS national championship game last week on ESPN. It's known as a QB machine around here. ... Zach Wilson, Jaxon Dart, Devin Brown (went to tOSU now at Cal) and several others including ZW's lil bro Isaac Wilson (Utah QB), and Helaman Casuga (signed w/ TAMU this year), etc. I always describe it as the Utah version of Hoover or Thompson.

Venables has made life rough on Alabama at Clemson and obviously at Oklahoma. I believe the Alabama offense will need to play measurably better in all phases in order to pull this one out. I am not sure that Grubb has a game plan in him to contend with Venables defense other than having the red hot QB as in the first game at Georgia. I expect a very painful game to watch that may not be decided until the final play.If I'm an independent party Im picking OU. This Alabama team is nowhere close to a championship team. Though I'll be rooting like heck for us to win. I've also watched enough football to know what a championship team looks like and this isn't one. But lets see how far we can go anyway! RTR
I meant about the coaching search. On his show; Pate makes it pretty clear that he doesn't believe DeBoer will seriously entertain this, but then when he goes on ESPN, he frames it completely different and stirs the pot. It's a strange phenomena and I see this happen with many in the media. ESPN has become the National EnquirerPate takes OU and GMac picks Bama. Grub needs to show that he can adapt and adjust...I think Venebles is a better DC than Grubb is an OC. But in Grubbs defense, its hard to show how good of a playcaller you are when your OL is as bad as ours. So I do give a lot of slack for that.
No doubt about any of that. I think all of us rational Tide Fans see this as an uphill battle. It has been a heck of a season, historic even. But we are not peaking at the right time. I certainly will be pulling for us though especially given the fact that the spooners own the record, are going for 3 straight conference wins and 2 games in the regular season against us, which would be a record. If I'm an independent party Im picking OU. It’s the very reason I don’t watch any programming on ESPN outside of college football. Too much tabloid tv across all networks to have to deal with it sports.I meant about the coaching search. On CBS Fornelli picked The Tide on expert picks, but OU in his picks of the week? Same guy a click away w/opposite picks and previews.I meant about the coaching search. I wasn’t happy with his take on Bama fans and Deboer. I think we’ve come a long way since the Fax campaign for Dubose!I'm not following you, here
He didn't change his take. He talked about CKD on his show, and he talked about fans on ESPN. Two different conversations... and he's not wrong, if people want to be sharp-tongued after a loss--similar to that Andy Staples report about boosters post-FSU...then they have to think carefully because the UM job is still open. That doesn't affect his opinion (likely shaped by conversations with CKD himself, I believe) about CKD's future. He came across as condescending on ESPN, sure, but I don't see how he's being inconsistent
No offense, but who in the hell is Fornelli? I thought he was the retired FBII agent and friend of Gibbs on NCIS.On CBS Fornelli picked The Tide on expert picks, but OU in his picks of the week? Same guy a click away w/opposite picks and previews.
Exactly…No offense, but who in the hell is Fornelli? I thought he was the retired FBII agent and friend of Gibbs on NCIS.
Sounds like a cheesy baked Italian dish.No offense, but who in the hell is Fornelli? I thought he was the retired FBII agent and friend of Gibbs on NCIS.
