Anybody have any hot tips on what recruits we could pick up some interest from, resulting from possible coaching changes? TAMU, Nebraska? What about NU's highly rated QB prospect, Blaine Gabbert? Jess hinted that we might be looking at a few from TAMU. Any idea who? I'm drooling over the possibilities! :drool5: :biggrinjester:

A real good friend & source swears Tommy T is going to replace ole Dennis at Texas A&M..........and that the Falcons new coach, Bobby Petrino......now we all remember him...... is blown out here in Atlanta already, from the Vick thing and a loss or two, and heading to barnville to replace TommyT.......the barner 'god' does not like Tommy T.........must be a god there....flies around in his own jet plane!!!!!!!!

Now that is not a rumor........it is his studied opinion, so I am not passing on a rumor, but rather, a studied opinion.

I really hope Petrino doesn't come to Awbarn. He can recruit and coach. Both are qualities I don't care to see in an Auburn coach.

I feel the same way about Petrino but Bama is the State school and we still have Coach Saban. Petrino would/will do better than Tubs but we will do just fine!!!!

I'm not convince that Arthur Blank is going to fire or release Petrino from his contract, giving the circumstances of what has happen to the Falcons organization. So, IMO, I don't think we will have to worry about Petrino replace Tubby at "The Barn."

Petrino is not leaving after 1 year. He would not have left that setup in Louis for 1 year, and he's not getting fired because Mike Vick fights dogs.

But if he did go to Auburn, more power to him. Tubby's probably a more well known coach and is a damn good one himself aswell as a good recruiter. Whichever one is there I think we've got the better man. But I don't think that Petrino is any better than Tubby...hey both lose games they shouldn't that would keep them in the NC picture, only Bobby did it in the Big East

Petrino's offense depends on a mobile QB that can see the field and think on the run. That kind of QB is hard to come by in the NFL much less college.

If he goes to the Barn (and I don't think that he will any time soon). He will have a lot of trouble instituting his spread offense, it may well take years and it still depends on the right QB. I don't know if the powers that be at AU will want to wait for that transition.

I agree that Petrino doesn't leave Atlanta after one year. If he does, then that means the Barn is his *dream job* which I guess is possible but I doubt.

Assuming Petrino did end up at the Barn one day, it would take a few years to implement his "system/process". And that ain't going to be easy when he's recruiting against CNS.

Ya ever heard of Kodi Burns? He is about as mobile as they get...

Thinking about it, Petrino was doing as well (or better) at Louisville than he could do at allbarn. UK has turned things around (for the moment) but there is no football powerhouse in Ky and Petrino had just about established UL as that powerhouse. He would not have left THAT to flee the NFL after only one year. Atlanta took a big hit just as he arrived and he will be given (and will take) time to see if he can turn things around there.

The barn might should get TT1 back. He would have been better than TT2 if he would have conformed to their recruiting methods!!!

I personally think Tubberville is an outstanding coach.
I also am still amazed that he didn't tell Lowder and company to stick it after the Petrino incident.
But eight million or so has clout.
I really don't care who replaces Franchione but it's going to tickle me to see him get the ax.
I was totally sold on him as a coach until he left for A&M without addressing Bama's players.
That was the biggest slap in the face Alabama football has ever taken in my opinion.
I think it hurt our the overall attitude of our program tremendously.
Good riddance to Franchione.
If Tubberville does indeed leave he'll win at Texas A&M just like he has at Auburn.
Personally I hope he stays. I don't want to win the SEC by default or departure.
It's time for us to step up and win it on the field.
Saban will accomplish that goal.
But I'd like to see Tubby stay in the SEC. He's a good coach. Maybe a great one.
And admit it guys. If the time comes when Saban holds up five fingers after the Auburn game....
we'll milk every ounce of it just like the Barners have.
That's what makes this game and our rivalry so great!
NOW...let's kick LSU's BUTT!!
Roll Tide!!!

I just don't see how Arthur Blank can justify firing Petrino. I mean this crappy season was NOT his fault. Vick being stupid was not his fault. Being stuck with Jim Mora, Jr's team while trying to implement a new offense is going to take time. Do I think Petrino will eventually go back to college? Did Spurrier? Did Saban? Did Carroll? Did Butch Davis? Did Lou Holtz? Petrino will be in Atlanta for atleast another 2 yrs.

yeah, i too thought fran had a lot of potential. However, when i think of fran or hear his name, i also think of Lane Bearden hobbling off the field after each punt. how could fran or any coach not want to shake this kid's hand or better yet, hug his neck.
