It's hard to believe that Coach Bryant's dynasties are not ranked higher.
especially 61-66. A sportswriter asked Green Bay coach Vince Lombardi after the Packers won the very first Super Bowl, "Is this the best team ever?" He responded, "I don't know we haven't played Alabama yet".

Personally, because of the alleged parity in college football now I don't think there's ever been a more impressive run than Bama since 2008.

Comparing teams from the 1940's, 1950's, 1960's and 1970's to today's teams is apples to oranges. IMO Tommy Frazier was not the best QB as he was more a RB who threw the ball some. How Coach Bryant was rated higher is ridiculous -- especially 1964-1966 which should have been 3 in a row except for some Yankee shenanigans which pushed the unbeaten Tide out of top place compared to the ND and Meechigan who had the infamous tie.

Compare teams from the BCS era as all teams are playing under the same rules. Alabama clearly No. 1 in that. Of course, this period will be known as the Saban era which still has a lot more to be accomplish,

The greatest dynasty was Bryant, 1961-1981.
Six national titles
Two more titles stolen by the voters
28-game winning streak
57-game home unbeaten streak
14 SEC titles
Played two more games that if won gives us title (1971, 1974)

And most importantly we can write off his four below par years as a time of social upheaval and transition from all-white to integrated teams. Alabama is one of the few success stories on that - and no, I'm not glossing over what it took. But remember - Ole Miss was a national power when it was all white football. Look at the last 40 years.

This is not even a debatable point.

How in the world can Oklahoma of 1973-1980 rank ahead of The Team of the 70s, who won more national titles?

The list is a joke. Notre Dame and Army from the 40s, when everybody else was fighting a war? (Note that Army was least affected since their officers were in school).

What a joke of a list. I'll shred it later. Gee, why didn't Boise State make the top five?
