We will now own about 72% of GM.

I never thought that before I hit 50 I would own banks, insurance companies, and an auto manufacturer. I wonder what else I will acquire for my portfolio over the next 8 years. I'm a regular rags to riches story...and so are the rest of ya!

Congratulations!!

This should more than make up for the fact that we won't be drawing SS; our house is worth half its value; inflation is ramping up; and we're all out of work. The worse part is we have to share our auto mfg business w/the labor union. Bad w/the good I suppose.;)

I guess that GM employee pricing will now be permanent for all US Citizens, not that I would buy one of their cars anyway (well maybe a Z06)

So if the UAW doesn't get what they want, can they just randomly pick any citizen to beat the crap out of or just the ones that pay taxes?

That's an interesting thought. I would imagine the executive discount would exceed the employee discount.

Way I see it, the UAW is gonna own about 20% and that doesn't compare to our 72%. We'll have them runt off in no time.;)

Don't get too excited guys, we now might be considered "rich".
I thought anyone who had an actual job with an income & property & such was considered "rich" by Congress & the IRS. I always thought "rich" would feel different somehow...

(Just to clarify...my context here goes back for multiple administrations. Just celebrated the 20th anniversary of my 30th birthday ;) So my comment should be viewed as a taking a shot @ the IRS and @ Congress' general approach to taxing. Not @ any particular politician, president, or party. Carry on...)
