Not exactly wackiness but Philadelphia airport workers are going on strike during the Democratic convention. As some one who is mostly sympathetic to unions, I would like to see the Dems carpool into town.

If you recall previous Democratic conventions (replete with chauffeur driven limousines while encouraging us all to ditch our gas guzzlers in favor of yugos and bicycles) you'll realize that could never happen. The Democrat elites are way too good and important to ever carpool with anyone, even each other.

Actually, on social issues, I'd bet Trump is way to the left of the platform committee folks, but whatever. Free speech, ain't it great?

That is correct. He's not now or will he ever try to overturn gay marriage. That's a wedge issue driven by emotions and there are many more pressing issues.

one of the very few things he has absolutely been consistent on recently is his pandering to evangelicals and that means promisses to appoint sumpreme court justices that will overturn Obergfell. Will he be honest and actually follow through? No idea but I doubt he gets the chance

if you go to the website it is very serious. They are asking the GOP to get rid of their hateful language towards the LGBT Community and showing how whenever these laws targeting LGBT individuals get publicity the number of kids committing suicide and calling suicide hotlines sky rockets

I don't know anyone within the actual GOP, so I have no opinion on whether ''the party'' has any feeling towards gays.
I do however know a lot of Republican voters, and I've not heard not a single one of them ever express such feelings toward gays in general or any particular person or group of persons within the gay community.
That said, I can only assume that the reverse must be true. It is you who hates the GOP, and only you know the true reason.

That's fine, and it's your right to feel any way you like, and for whatever reasons you feel appropriate.
Please though, don't falsely accuse others of those same feelings and then let that accusation alone become a justification for your own.
