Cop in MO kills unarmed black teen

Back on topic, it appears CNN reported that DOJ led by Holder, wanted the video of Michael Brown robbing the convenient store to not be released. Interesting.

Yeah, I thought so too. I also find it interesting that those who want to lynch the officer tend to suspect nefarious motives from FPD for releasing it, while those who are taking a wait and see attitude tend to suspect nefarious motives from DOJ for not wanting it released. The level of distrust is striking. This country seems to be so much more divided than it used to be.

Yep, I was for lynching the cop if it could be proved he shot him for less than "feared for my life" reasons. I have no trust for our government either so. I think the kid was a punk and my utter distrust/contempt of police officers at this point leaves me on the fence. Then the DOJ throws that curve ball as well. I just don't know what the heck is going on. There's so much wrong in all of this, I don't know if we'll ever get to the bottom of this.

we are at a point where civil society has broken down. there are almost no good guys in situations like these- just various levels of criminal. it has been this way for a while but i think people are seeing it more and more with more information available. our form of government only works when you have an overall moral society. well we dont have that society anymore.

Yeah! They know I'll never give up on them and believe me it pays off.

2009 Texas/Bama game is on The Network and here I am talking about something serious. lol

Awesome! We just won. Very honorable post-game remarks from Colt. No excuses from him at all. Very humble and congratulatory to Bama. You could tell how much it hurt him that he couldn't finish.

Well said, and unfortunately, true.

Good question. And it deserves a good answer, and I don't have it. Everyone that steps up, well, gets knocked down.

Yup - happened to this man.

I routinely listen to his radio show and really like his common sense philosophies.

But CA, I look at the 'white community' and I see men leading. I look in the black and women are leading. To me, that's the difference. We don't need a specific person doing the leading, we just need the average joe to step up. Here's the thing, black women don't want that. What the leader says goes, and in this is case it's unfortunate.
Excellent point. Wish I knew an easy answer.

There is an answer, but it requires getting down and dirty in relationships with the people involved. Most folks would rather just write checks, but you have to share life to show a better way. That said, there has to be a critical mass of those willing to DO The Right Thing to change the culture...

Unfortunately, more people want the status quo than those that don't.

I agree....I think we are more "splintered" at this point. The reason I say that is......it's not "left" and "right" anymore. There are now multiple camps forming....

1. The far left -- whites --- want to stay in power by catering to whatever special interest group yells the loudest -- which group that is, changes daily, weekly, etc
2. The far left minorities -- want to have a place at the table, take whatever power is given to them by the far left whites -- vote in a huge block because they've been promised rewards if they do so
3. The Independents -- those that are afraid to take a position, are usually socially moderate/liberal and are fiscally conservative - want low taxes, and are worried about being tagged as a racist/Uncle Tom/Gay Basher, etc....
4. The Libertarians -- believe that everyone on the planet is capable of making their own decisions but ignore that most Americans have been conditioned to not be able to do that -- and need the far left whites to tell them how.
5. The Rinos -- see "The far left -- whites" -- same definition - except they flip on Abortion, Global Warming, and Military Exercises
6. The Christian Right -- those that believe that all the answers can be found in one book, and won't listen to much else.....they try hard to maintain the status quo -- with hope that they can put this sinking ship back on course.....

And, if you try hard enough -- there are slots in between each of those six, where most of us fit.....the sad thing is -- is that we were never meant to trust Government -- that's why all those cool little safeguards were put into place. Government's job was to prove to us that it is trustworthy. Now it doesn't care what we think --
