Cox Status?

What do we want here? An unproven but unknown Fields or a talented Cox that hasn't been playing well as of late. I feel more comfratable with Cox because we know what we are getting and I don't think he is all there right now. I don't like the unknown with Fields. Remember the '94 Iron Bowl when Nix came in for White? Everyone thought White was the better qb but when he was hurt and Nix came in the game turned. Though we still won, Nix brought a new enthusiasm to the barn. What do you guys think?

I don't care which one plays... I just hope they spend most of the day on their back and their are lots of camera shots with the barn QB picking dirt out of his face mask!

i know wut you're saying about the unknown forevercrimson... but i think it'd be A LOT easier to rattle field than it would be cox... BDS will be insane saturday.. and i think it would be a terrible situation for an unexpierienced qb like field to step into..

Oooooh Blake Field.

I hate that guy. He QBed at my rival high school Cairo High for 3 years. One of the most arrogant jerks I've ever had the displeasure of playing golf against.

Line me up at DE, I'll get to him.

When I was watching the AUbarn/LSU game & Cox was injured, the camera cut to Fields & he had the deer in the headlights look....he didn't even know where his helmet was:eek2: Right now, I just want to BEAT THE BARN! I don't care if Cox, Fields, Irons or King Dunlap takes the snaps.

Back to the topic....

"It's better, but it's still a little sore," Cox said. "I'm a lot better now than I was this time last week. Every time I get hit it swells and tightens up on me. I didn't want it to get hit, then I get hit on the first play. I kind of got frustrated after that. It was hurting, but I don't want to say it affected my throwing."
Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville says he has no doubt that Cox will come back with a vengeance against the Crimson Tide. Tuberville has seen it happen before.

MASH HERE for complete story.

RTR-stop the streak

I have a bad experience with my team getting it handed it to them by a back up qb. In the 1992 playoffs, the Houston Oilers had a 35-3 3rd quarter lead on the Buffalo Bills, only to see it washed away with the help of a guy named Frank Reich(Jim Kelly's back up). I know stuff like that rarely happens, but I still get an uneasy feeling about it. Not to mention that I can hear all the aubs bragging for years to come about a back qb coming in and winning the Iron Bowl(see Tre Smith circa 2002; I still hate that guy).

Well... based on this year's pressure on the QB, I'd say you better get ready for some disappointment.

Y'all are right, the barn has no choice but to go with Cox. UGA was able to put pressure on Cox and it amounted to a lot of picks. The only way we put pressure on Cox will be to blitz, but then we leave our secondary vulnerable. That is my biggest worry outside our O-Line. How will our D-Line hold up to the barn O-Line? Cox is beaten up and his head isn't right, if we put pressure on him this will look a lot like the '01 Iron Bowl. Roll Tide.
