I believe most of Bama's offensive shortcomings can be corrected by doing the following and I believe we will see this in weeks to come:
1. Playmakers need to get the football more. Ray Hudson should be getting 20-30 carries pgm. Additionally, throw it to him another 5-10 times out of the back field (they are safe throws and it gets him the ball out on the perimeter where he is most dangerous). Hudson is a downhill runner who is a threat to score everytime he touches the ball! Throw the ball to Castile. He will catch it and he is a load to stop once he gets going. Hudson and Castile are the best players on offense and they can carry the team offensively if they are creative about getting them the ball!!
2. Use screens to get the ball into WR's hands. They are already doing this but I think we will see more of it based on the fact that they are normally high percentage, safe throws which is what the offense needs more of.
3. Throw that deep ball more. I know you all are thinking QB's can't throw but they can, they have to stay away from the trouble spot which is mainly the center of the field (where defenses change and disguise coverages). Stay away from the middle, work the flats and deep sideline routes. Gullion has done a pretty decent job with the deep ball and we will connect on a few real soon. It keeps the defense honest, it increases the chances of a big play and its fairly simple to read. Get single coverage, let it fly. Best of all, if you do make a mistake and throw the pick, its 40-50 yards downfield not at your own 18! Bama needs balance and I think you get it by throwing safer passes, by hitting some big ones, and by not putting the QB's in 3rd and long.
Just my .02 worth. whatever happens I will continue to pull for them come what may, and I just know that Bama and CMS are due for a few lucky breaks, and are going to get things turned around. They were well on there way before Brodie got hurt and they will be again. The past few weeks were just a bump in the road. RTR!!!!
