Dallas Turner's "dirty" tackle

He didn't do it on purpose. He thought he grabbed his shoulder pad.
He clearly didn't mean to, his response show remorse. Just a fluke play. He was rightfully flagged and that should be the end of it.
If people think that was dirty, they don’t know much about football. Just unlucky that Turner grabbed the face mask. Then physics took over.

There was a play in the 49ers - Chargers game last night where the 49er defender got thrown out. Herbert was running, got tackled, 2nd defender came in and hit him, changing his trajectory....3rd defender who had already committed to the hit wound up hitting him in the head because the other hit knocked him into him.
Football is football. Dallas was reaching for his chest/shoulder area, the kid ducked into the facemask. Its hard to react fast enough to then pull your hand back and just not touch him at all.

Yeah, it was a dirty play just like defensive players intend to "target."

Dallas' body language tells you he didn't do it on purpose. he grabs his own head in a manner that screams " oh, crap what did I just do"
Clearly Turner was shocked and remorseful about the tackle. The QB ducked his head at the wrong time and Turner latched on causing the awful grab and twisting of the helmet which thankfully came off. I think the officials were mindful of Turner's obvious remorse and only tacked on the obligatory 15 yard penalty. Had the QB not being able to move his body in the direction his head was being twisted, it could have been so much worse.
Did not like the head shoving incident later. He could have well cost his team a 15 yard penalty and another Ole Miss score. That needs to be dealt with.

But that was not that bad and it happens on almost every play. I’m sure someone in the broadcast booth saw it and tried make a big deal out of it. Itt so tiring to see weak minded people get offended by the least little thing.

My wife and I both immediately reacted to it…it was a dirty play.
Doesn’t matter if it happens often…it was a cheap shot that could have been very costly.
People who think he could have avoided that do not understand basic physics.

The head-shoving incident was so mindless, so gratuitous and another illustration of the lack of discipline from our defense. The face mask? That stuff happens. The head shot? One player made that happen at a key point in the game. Punk move.
I agree it was cheap shot. It happens all time on blocks and tackles. Heck, I’m 67 and that same thing happened when I played. My point was that the broadcast made a special deal of it. It all part of the bias BAMA gets. That’s not an opinion that is a fact..
From where I sit the face mask was due to his being out of control...I realize you want to get to the QB quickly, but a half step less speed, under control, and he makes an easy tackle/sack. The head shove -- that's just football...it isn't tiddly winks or golf...LOL.
I've never known Bama to be known for any dirty play.

First off the face mask was not a dirty move by DT.
Should he have been under a little more control? Tep.
When he came in the qb, naturally, tried to avoid and DT just reached out to try to make a play and unfortunately he grabbed fm instead of jersey or something else.

That was worse than the penalty. He is one step from making a sack and us getting the ball back. It extended their drive. These are the things that have kept from being a really good football team.
