Dareus won't sit out a game??? (speculation)

I think the chance of Dareus playing this Saturday is virtually nil. 50/50 chance that he's back for Penn State, and pretty good chance that he's cleared to play the rest of the season after that. But as I've said before, worst case is 6 game suspension.

Won't hurt my feelings if he don't play saturday night. Don't need him for that game and maybe he will learn a lesson about doing the right thing for the team if he does. In this day of me me me not playing a game might help him understand what coach Saban has tried to instill in his mind and be the best thing for the young man in the future.

Not saying he did much wrong but getting on a plane to Miami to go to a party is not something I as a parent would have wanted my son to do, I would have been suspicious as hell. That being said I think anything other than a one or two game suspension would be over kill to fit the crime.

Re: Dareus won't sit out a game???

Hope you're right, although I don't think it'll matter on Sat (except for stats for him for post-season awards). Blogs are the new thorn in my side with sports; anyone can say anything and get away with it.

I'm going to jump off topic and defend blogs - there are blogs that worthless, but there are many, many blogs that feature good reporting from "laymen" with connections as well as great writing. TideFans - while not a blog per se - fits this bill.

There are regular journalists with bad sources and worse writing. See the Birmingham News.

:BigA:I think that I am like many Bama fans who are interested in how the process really works with the NCAA. Questions like the timetables they use to make decisions and why would they wait like they have in this situation. :BigA:

The administration thinks three games are the worst case...

According to Gentry Estes and Gamecocksblog twitter accounts only to USCe players will miss the game tonight, gamecocksblog mentioned that the school may have heard from the NCAA. the two missing being Chris Culliver and Jerriel King.
Maybe a good sign that we hear about Dareus before saturday, maybe?

That's assuming Dareus has been 100% truthful, which I'm sure the administration believes and which I really, really hope is true. If the NCAA concludes he's been the least bit dishonest in any respect, it will be more than 3 games.

At this point I dont think we have a reason to believe he wasn't telling the truth. As the case stands now 3 games is likely the worst.

Gentry Estes just tweeted that word on Dareus is due "very shortly." Sounds like we're about to find out. *fingers crossed*
