They had TiderInsider crew fill in for the afternoon guys since they were traveling to Miami on The Zone in B'ham today and Rodney had an interview with Walker's high school coach. The interview was done live at around 5:00 and the coach said he had spoken with Walker 1 hour ago and he has cancelled his FLA visit. He said the only real competition is FSU since Pruitt is there and Walker absolutely loves him but he thought he would still go to Bama.

The coach also said 2014 5 star LB Daub is a huge Alabama lean.

From these comments I believe we get Walker and Daub.

I'm not a big Andrew Bone supporter, but look at those tweets. Although Walker's coach is making those comments, Walker is telling Bone he's visiting UF.

I don't necessarily know who to tell you to believe but if in this situation I tend to believe what the player tells his coach in private more than what he's telling Bone publicly...

Maybe the kid is just so confused he is telling people the first thing that pops in to mind... Some 17 year olds are like that

Maybe but I think this may be a situation where he is getting a lot of pressure from friends and their families (i.e. Nick Washington) to give Florida a visit and he just wants to please everyone with his words although his heart is already committed.

I would tend to believe the coach also especially where he is quoted saying he encourages FLA to his players but you never know. It could be to get the Bama staff off of him until after he visits but I think this is unlikey.

Yeah that's kinda the point I am making. Why would he tell his coach one thing and reporters another? His coach is pushing for UF so he has no reason to hide it from him. But he knows what gets said on recruiting sites his friends will read. Nick Washington really wants him to visit Florida, and he might just do it, but I think we are okay right now he just wants to keep his friends happy. We'll see how this one turns out I don't really know what to make of it right now.

YES, in my profession absolutely and I have never professed to have any inside information on this site. I love to follow recruiting and other aspects of the team and have done so for several years. During that time, I have found Andrew Bone to be a bore, tease and I told you so when things fall into place with his Nostradamis like vague predictions.

My post was not meant to discredit you personally, but to advise others who only read these posts that information from AB is suspect. However, that is my opinion.

I don't disagree with that statement at all in reference to Bone, but in fairness to him, I do believe it deserves to be said that it applies to most other self-proclaimed recruiting "experts" out there, too.

At the end of the day, much of that business model involves selling people on buying something you don't have -- real inside information as to what future events will unfold -- and that leads to significant vagueness, ambiguity, and self-congratulation. Bone is far from the only one occupying that field.

I heard Walker's coach on the radio yesterday afternoon. He said he spoke to DeMarcus in person Wednesday afternoon and DeMarcus stated that he wasn't visiting Florida and that he didn't know where the reports that he was going to visit were coming from. The coach said that he's pretty certian that DeMarcus was coming to Bama and that the only reason he might change his mind was because he mother couldn't travel long distances to see him play and because of Pruitt's leaving for FSU. The coach did indicate that FSU might get a look simply because of the relationship he forged with Pruitt.

In fairness to reporters, I don't think these kids fully are sure where they want to go yet. If the reporters seem inaccurate, it could be that the kids have changed their minds again. Like Robert Foster, he was planning on committing to Pitt until an hour before the press conference. This is one of the biggest decision these kids and their parents will make. Just some perspective. Bash me if you like. :eek2:

The kid is obviously torn and I will not fault him wherever he goes.....FSU may be more in play than people think, but he's got a short time period to decide if he is going to be an EE.
