I don’t think anyone means it to be harsh criticism.I don't understand the criticism. It was a short Q&A.
He said we fell short of our championship expectations.
No matter your record you always want to self scout and critique your performance.
Happy with what the staff and players are doing already.
Busy recruiting now but look forward to spending more time with the team soon.
Seems like good, normal, comments from a coach.
Orgeron was entertaining.Seriously? He gives the worst press conferences since Orgeron.
maybe if he said aight more?I see lots of people grumbling about what he says and how he says it.
I really don't get it.
What would he need to say that would make people happy?
Do people have to complain about everything all the time?
But he actually did make a few points which I rewrote for those that didn't listen in this one answer in an interview. It was normal coach-speak. Oh well, people have their minds made up regardless of what is actually said.I don’t think anyone means it to be harsh criticism.
For me anyway he just says a whole lot of words without really telling you anything new or insightful.
As long as he wins it’s meaningless anyway.
Bulka Jamba shura Gummo bukka jahmso,
Go Tigahs!
Fans got used to Nick's press conferences being a tool to communicate real information to the players. So the fan felt "included" because what was being said was real and meaningful information. Compared to now, it is obvious that 99% of what comes out of DeBoer's mouth is so vague and generic the fan can't get anything from it. The fan really doesn't have much insight as to where the team is or what's going on.I see lots of people grumbling about what he says and how he says it.

LOL! Yeah, but pretty much same result. That was Orgeron, not Miles...![]()

We lost the greatest coach to ever do it at the college level, and one who was a master at pretty much every aspect of the job from on the field to off the field to the media etc.Fans got used to Nick's press conferences being a tool to communicate real information to the players. It boils down to Nick spoiled the crap out of the fans and now they're just realizing it. Again, winning covers a multitude of sins and if he wins all of this won't matter a hill of beans. But if he doesn't...
I fully agree, but it's human nature and sometimes human nature is tough to fight. I'm really rooting for DeBoer and hoping this doesn't turn sour for him. I'd like him to be good enough to be here for 10+ years.........We've talked on more than one occasion that losing him wouldn't have been so hard had he been a bum of a husband and loser of a father. But he was the finest human being I've ever known and I'll probably never encounter another person in my life that can match how great he was for me and my family.
Although he didn't die, losing Saban was sort of the same in terms of knowing that we'll never see another one like him in our lifetimes.
Judging any coach against Saban is unfair to the coach and unfair to us.
I'm not complaining about what he says or how he says it. I just want to see it on the field, so I will reserve judgment until autumn and see what he puts out there.I see lots of people grumbling about what he says and how he says it.
I really don't get it.

Agreed. I don't really care about press conferences. Hell, he could not speak and just respond to sports reporters via interpretive dance ... just win!I'm not complaining about what he says or how he says it. That would be an interesting PR approach.Agreed. I don't really care about press conferences. Hell, he could not speak and just respond to sports reporters via interpretive dance ... just win!![]()
I wouldn't know because I don't watch press conferences, but I would guess this wasn't a press conference by just looking at the video lead in. If he said what someone else mentioned, I would agree with him and hope he gets it corrected. Roll Tide!Seriously? He gives the worst press conferences since Orgeron.
I would pay to see that.Agreed. I don't really care about press conferences. Hell, he could not speak and just respond to sports reporters via interpretive dance ... just win!![]()
