See there we go making assumptions..... I did not vote for Trump or Biden I wrote in Ben Carson a Christian man with the same morals and beliefs as I have. Do you get your news from left wing ? And this country turned its back on God long before Trump got elected. When I was a child in school we started every day off with a scripture reading, prayer, and then the pledge. Other than the pledge my son never did that in school, and he is about to graduate. And I could go on and on and on about how this country has taken God out of things but I don' have that much time.
12 years of Catholic school, and I’m going to guess they started at least at the same era as yours if not earlier; we never read any scripture before class and I don’t recall a prayer either, only the pledge with the whole school when the flag was raised and a song (America the Beautiful, etc). We did have religion class every day.
Catholics are like Baptists in their Christianity only, and these days that’s definitely not a mirror image. If my pastor gave one of his sermons at a local Southern Baptist congregation, they’d chase him out five minutes in.
Our two party system has been a contributing factor to the morass in which we currently live. It can’t survive without division, and that division is fueled by billions of dollars. Anyone from whatever belief position who doesn’t see this and agree that nothing will change unless money’s influence is severely curtailed is whistling past the graveyard.
I don’t care what religion my President ascribes to, or if he’s a member of any organized religion at all; I care about who and what he is. Who Trump is is who he’s always been (same pretty much for Biden). When you vote and have to choose between two (and saying you have a third or fourth or fifth choice is a cop out - you know one of those two will win) that you really don’t like, you owe it to yourself and your fellow countrymen (and women) to vote for the lesser of two evils.
I am not trying to force anything but there is no "brand" of Christianity. You either are a Christian or your not. But you are correct denying Jesus is definitely a you problem and not a we problem. That leads to one road the same road this country is on by the way. I sure am glad I won't be on that road.
Funniest post of the day.

A federal judge has just ORDERED Llano County Texas to return "all books" that were removed from their libraries due to their content or viewpoint.
Library patrons successfully argued that "content-based restrictions" were likely unconstitutional. The Texas judge is also prohibiting the officials from removing any more books while a lawsuit remains pending. The books that were banned included a book for teens that calls the Ku Klux Klan a terrorist group, Isabel Wilkerson’s “Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents” and a comedic children’s book with three stories from Dawn McMillan’s “I Need a New Butt!” series.
The decision could set wide reaching precedent in light of recent book banning in Florida, supported by Ron DeSantis. What a great victory for books!

Verses are all in thd Bible about abortion. Psalms 139 13-16 and Jeremiah 1-5 for starters. It's certainly up to you to figure out what they mean to you. .I certainly know what they mean to me. But hey you are right brother.
Abortion was in neither verse.

But preserving life - including of grown women - is a recurring theme, brother.

As I said it's totally on you to know what they mean to you... Obviously they don't mean the same to us. May want to read what the Bible says about intentionally taking a life also.
Well, one good post you’ve made - you don’t believe in capital punishment. Maybe there is hope.

But yet a huge number of democrat candidates serve the Lord and protect the children while supporting abortion..
I always wonder if people who are as dedicated to a faith as you evidently are realize that religions are indoctrinations. Had you been born in another part of the world, you would likely be of a different faith. You might also believe in that faith just as fervently as you do the one you claim right now. I'm Jewish. I do not believe as you do. You mention in another post in this thread, that you remember them praying and reading scripture in school at the beginning of the day. I remember the prayers, too. And they always prayed in Jesus' name. You have to realize that I went to a school in an area of Montgomery where many Jewish families lived. Therefore, a lot of Jewish kids went to that school. We were still greatly outnumbered, of course but, I remember how that made me feel and I object to this day.

I agree with your sentiment about religion in school. People shouldn’t have religion pushed upon them in a setting they can’t walk away from run by the government. You and I believe differently but I respect your right to do so. I can and should share my beliefs with you, but I’m not a fan of indoctrination into a religion or political/philosophical ideology happening in a government run school.

I don’t want my child to be taught about religion or morals in a way that is different than what I believe as her parent. That is my job not the government schools, and I respect that for others as well. That’s why keeping all these religions and ideologies out of schools is the right thing to do. Including my religion.

Apparently women’s lives don’t mean as much to you nor the parts about doing good when you know to do good. God himself killed David’s baby boy. Plenty of examples of justified killing in there also. But what you don’t seem to understand - and thankfully you’ve never had the opportunity apparently to learn - is that many abortions are to preserve the life or health of the mother and often the condition of the fetus is incompatible with life in any case. Those just aren’t the ones you focus on.
