Rep. Victoria Spartz: "If you violated the law, you are not entitled to due process."
Without due process, there is no process to decide if you broke the law.
What she's really saying is "if we accuse you of breaking the law, you go to a gulag."
Totalitarianism.
If they're willing to deny constitutional rights to non-citizens they don't like, they will try to do the same to citizens who don't toe the line.
"They had no accountability, so why should we?"Scott Jennings lays out the plain facts to Dems calling for firings over Signalgate:
JENNINGS: “The bar for firing people like this is really high from the last administration when after the Afghanistan withdrawal, which was a disaster, people died." "No accountability was made after the drone strike that vaporized those poor kids and that family." "No accountability after the secretary of defense went AWOL. No accountability."
MEAGHER: “But Austin did a press conference and called for a review."
JENNINGS: "Did a single Democrat ask for his resignation?"

Yeah, I've grown accustomed to 'leadership' from DC that's basically laughable hypocrisy. Truly a race to the bottom."They had no accountability, so why should we?"
Truly inspired leadership.
“If it wasn’t a problem when they did it then it shouldn’t be a problem when we do it” is a huge copout. Make your side take accountability and get those responsible to fall on their sword.Yeah, I've grown accustomed to 'leadership' from DC that's basically laughable hypocrisy. Strategic incompetence helps maintain the status quo for both parties. They get away with it only because they know most voters are too stupid to realize this.“If it wasn’t a problem when they did it then it shouldn’t be a problem when we do it” is a huge copout. But it’s just easier to wait for the storm to blow over and keep on keeping on.
And a substantial number of those 27% who identify as evangelicals are not Christians at all.View attachment 50206

A substantial number of identified "Christians" ALSO aren't Christians at all.And a substantial number of those 27% who identify as evangelicals are not Christians at all.
Undeniably true. I started going to church with my wife before we were even married and even now, I see people at Easter I don't even recognize. I ask my wife (who has been going to mass at this church for 40 years now) who these people are and she doesn't know either.A substantial number of identified "Christians" ALSO aren't Christians at all.
Twenty years ago tomorrow, Pope John Paul II died. You may recall his funeral was a big deal. The then wife of one of my classmates was originally from Spain, and she pointed out there's a substantial chunk of ATHEIST CATHOLICS in Spain, but it's the way to fit in and not have questions asked or be looked down on.
I'm not saying that's that bad here, but there's probably a lot of folks who haven't taken their names off the rolls yet.
I regularly use the "both sides" observation, but that doesn't imply that both parties are identical. Both sides generally and overwhelmingly suck. Is the suckatude the same? No, it varies by issue. But it hardly matters to me when considering the big picture. One side is offering you a crap sandwich on wheat. The other a crap sandwich on sourdough. While some people will argue over their preference on the bread options, I'm thinking, "Guys, look at what's in between the slices of bread."While the "both sides" observation applies here to a limited degree, it would be refreshing to have some comments on whether posters agree with the actions or not. Otherwise, it's just more of the generic "there's no difference between the two parties" stuff.
There is a major difference between identifying as Christian and being a practicing Christian. I wonder if that was the distinction he was trying to draw and just did a very poor job of it.View attachment 50206

I know some people feel that way, but that’s not what I was addressing. It’s that a few posters seem to use the “both sides” comment to avoid taking a stance on an issue. It happened when Biden was president, too. The administration or party does something and rather than take a stand or express an opinion, we get a “both sides are guilty of this” statement. It usually seems to be a way to avoid expressing support for the action while at the same time moving the conversation away from the original topic. It’s almost as if some folks don’t want to take any responsibility for the issues/actions they support.I regularly use the "both sides" observation, but that doesn't imply that both parties are identical. Maybe not, but if one's faith isn't strong enough to take them to church (Heb. 10:25), I don't know why anyone should think it would be strong enough to take them into Heaven, either (allowing for such obvious cases as disabilities; and those folks can always watch Benny Hinn on the TV).I always find it funny when people try to gatekeep Christianity. Who gets to decide who is and who isn't Christian? And I don't think Church attendance is a good way of going about it either
