I think he wants a big job in the south(obviously could be wrong). And I think he would be a hell of a recruiter at a big southern school.
I'm not saying I'd like to see him at Bama - not saying I wouldn't either. It's too early to tell, but there's little question the guy can recruit and coach.

Ignoring for a moment the brashness / douchiness (however you would describe it), consider what a guy like Deion could accomplish at a program like Bama.

Agreed. I don't know for sure that I would want him. It's still too early. But if continues to succeed I think he would make a lot of sense. I know a lot of Bama fans would hate it because they feel about him the way I feel about Dabo. But I think he would do a lot of the things you need to do to succeed at Bama. Specifically he would be a great recruiter and attract high level coaching talent.

It’s hard to see the forest for the trees. Especially when the trees are sparkly.

Nick Saban says he hasn't been able to watch Deion Sanders coach much, but did see a little bit of Colorado State game. "I have a tremendous amount of respect for Deion Sanders. He's a great person, and he's done a great job of marketing the program to create national interest."

Saban said Colorado has played well, and Sanders' teams have always been well-coached going back to high school and Jackson State.

If all were right in the college football world with Bama being Bama and winning with a great Coach and the best talent I'd say Sanders and Colorado are just a flash in the pan.

But who is to so this is NOT the way of the future???

What will happen??? I fully expect them to lose a few games (should have lost to Col. St.) and the bloom will be off the rose and we'll go back to talking about what's wrong with the blue bloods this year.

You know what you're getting when it comes to Sanders. He's always been this way. He's loud, he's in your face, and isn't humble, but he's always backed it up. I like Deion, every since the Falcons drafted him, and then the Braves traded for him.

Is he a great coach? Time will tell, but I don't think there are many coaches out there that could or would do what he's done so far at Colorado. And the thing is, imagine what he will do with a roster of blue chips, because that will happen.

Colorado will probably get their doors blown off the next two weeks, but that doesn't take away from what they've done so far, and what he has those players believing.

They'll definitely lose games. It would be absurd to expect them not to. He also might be a flash in the pan. It's possible. But if he continues to win it would be foolish to not consider him at a big time program.

Let's look at what's happening in context.

Colorado has been a wasteland in the college football world since, what, about 1990?

What they needed the most was attention and promotion and that is what Primetime is all about. He promotes himself and he promotes Colorado.

Will this work at a school like Bama, USC or Ohio State? I have no idea, but I'm afraid it wouldn't simply because the money people don't want the coach to talk they want to see the results on the field. Talk over substance won't get it!

Now, if he can parlay this into winning over 2 or 3 years (winning big; not being 8-4, which is like being Auburn), then all bets are off. Hey, why should we be surprised if he doesn't work because at this point, nothing surprises me anymore!!!

I think worst case scenario they are 7-5 this year. And I'm not buying 8 Pac 12 teams are top 25 caliber either so that number is probably going to turn out better.

I don't see them going to Oregon and winning. And I don't see them beating USC but that's Lincoln Riley we are talking about so....

Now that I've seen the context of his comments,, it does not set me off so badly. But he is still only 3-0. And Colorado still has not played anybody. Yes, considering where Colorado was at a year ago, they should be 0-3 right now regardless so he has definitely improved them.

I think his act, and it is an act, is funny out there. I do not think it would fly at Alabama. Yes winning cures all... but I don't know that we would give him the time (assuming he didn't just win immediately).

Then again, wonders never cease.

I like Prime for the same reason I like CNS he doesn’t hold back, he says what’s on his mind, he’s not pc, he’s doing it his way and I like that. Plus I love that he always gives Saban his flowers.

He may be different and cocky but that’s who Prime has been since he was a player. He’s bringing a lot of eyes to the College game that otherwise may not even entertain College Football and I think that will only help the sport grow.

Deion Sanders Effect: Colorado football sells out every home game for first time in program history

Doesn't his contract have points for ticket sales? I think so. He's worth whatever they pay him & more.

I saw his full comments and wasn't offended. In fact, he was hugely complimentary and deferntial of CNS. Even with the CNS misspeak earlier in the year, after his initial "we gonna talk" comments, he has said stuff like this, so I have no problem with him verbalizing his confidence.

He's not going to get the players he wants by poor mouthing himself or them.

So referring to himself in the third person while saying, he’s already surpassed the goat somehow makes this better?

I don’t think he’s a coach at all. I think he’s a talent agent disguised as a coach.
That’s what I’ve been saying this whole time. He’s not a coach. He’s an actor and motivator. He’s damn good at it too, but he’s not a coach.

Look at all the AFLAC commercials those two are in together. That's not gonna happen without some degree of mutual respect. That says something right there.

There are a lot of Gators who despise Coach Sanders because of his time with FSU. That's very small-minded, IMHO.

You take each person individually and for what they have accomplished. He's done a LOT! More than most of those small-minded people even know about, that's for sure....
