I was at the Colorado versus Nebraska game last fall in Lincoln, and I saw Sanders up close.

he was the third best quarterback in the game. He threw as many touchdowns for Nebraska as he did for Colorado. He had eight rushes for -30 yards. And then after he led them on a drive against some Nebraska substitutes late for a cosmetic touchdown, they pulled him and he left the bench for the locker room early. The after the fact justification not seen on television was that he was being checked out by medical staff, but having been there and watched him leaving the field - as all of the fans noticed - I thought that was a lie designed to protect his protected status. I will grant Dion may be telling the truth on this, but it sure didn’t look like it when you could see things that weren’t necessarily shown on television.

Idk if he had more eligibility. I’ve not kept up with Colorado closely outside of seeing highlights of Travis Hunter. He should’ve stayed at CU. He would’ve made more money for sure. He already had some endorsements no doubt set up by Deion. You know who did not have them? The best player on the team and CFB- Travis Hunter. Or none that I noticed. Things have a way of working out though. Here’s another example.

Also, you know who was keeping receipts? NFL teams.

I hope he is able to find a team where he can develop more as a person and athlete.

Neither he, Milroe or Iamaleava "Stole the Gem" out of my college football donut to where I wish ill on any of them. It's just the "Invisible Hand" adjusting to a new world in which we created in our uncontrolled entertainment fix. The Coliseum rules society as it did in Rome of old. Folks don't seem to have much trouble with paying players illegally under the table, but making it legal seems to have started a firestorm. I mean, people still want to hire Pruitt even though he broke the law when it was illegal.

I think the deal with Shedur is a combination of two things: First, his dad will be all up in the business of any team that Shedur is on. He is the helicopter parent of all helicopter parents. And when they don't get what they want for their kids, they flip over and become God's own mower. Plus, I'm guessing NFL owners haven't forgotten Deion's time in the league.

Second, and kind of like Colin Kaepernick, Shedur is good. Neither is good enough to put up with the circus they bring with them.

I think he probably didn't interview well also. That also is problem if his Dad has been control of employment. He doesn't have the skills to do things on his own.

One of the things I heard on ESPN's radio coverage last night is that an anonymous NFL source said for his team the issue is they didn't know how Shedeur would be without his dad. Deion has been his coach at every single level. Will SS be able to function without him? Will Deion butt out and focus on Colorado?

The best part are the people who seriously think there is some sort of “collusion” going on by the league. He’s just simply not good enough to counter the baggage he brings with him.

Yeah, the conspiracy theorists are laughable. You can't get 32 billionaire owners to agree on anything other than how to make more money.

To the ones that say the NFL doesn't like strong black men, are you really saying that a significant majority of NFL players are weak black men?

If you limit it to QBs, are you really saying that Lamar Jackson, Russell Wilson, Jayden Daniels, Patrick Mahomes, Geno Smith, Jordan Love, Bryce Young, Kyler Murray, Jalen Hurts, Dak Prescott and endless other black QBs are weak men?

If you limit it to black QBs who have a rapper image, are you saying they won't countenance Shedur Sanders because of that, but allowed Michael Vick -- who is a despicable human being with felony animal cruelty convictions -- back into the league after he served his time?
