If you have seen Cleveland's war room reaction to drafting Sanders then you know if feels like they were forced (probably by the owner) to select Sanders.

With that said, Flacco/Pickett are QB1 and 2 and I just don't see them carrying 3 QBs, much less 4, on the active roster. So it will be interesting to see how this plays. Oh to be a fly on the wall when Clevelands HC and GM goes to release Sanders and someone from higher up stops them and forces them to either keep both drafted QB or release Gabriel.

The truth is that the NFL is starting to value character far more than ever because they are tired of wasting a bunch of resources on guys who are constantly in trouble with the law or dividing the locker room.

Again I can’t state this enough… Many teams made their decisions on both Sanders and Milroe strictly on their interviews, past off the field antics, and what they didn’t do at the combine. The fact that Dart and Slough were taken over both tells you a lot in the thought process.

I hope you are correct about the whole character thing.

Owner? Why would he waste a pick on the kid of the guy who trashed his organization and the handling of quarterbacks?

I’m not a conspiracy nut in regards to the NFL draft, but that is a pretty interesting detail.

If he went undrafted, the Sanders group would have alleged being ostracized maybe even making it racial. Draft him, give him his shot, and move on.

In Philly, that have a guy who evaluates players for the GM,

Selma interrupts this thread to gloat....I make no apologies for calling out this pathetic excuse for an analyst for precisely what he is - not "any better at draft projections than your average basement virgin nerd."
AND

Mel Kiper knows less football than someone who has never seen a football game.

The blue font was not exactly established when I posted this first mockery of Bad Hair Day in 2014:

I'm sure Mel Kiper had it right. He's the most accurate prognosticator on the NFL draft ever - including the future.
All you need to know about Mel Kiper is...

He compared JaMarcus Russell to John Elway

Thought Jimmy Clausen was an NFL level QB

Mel Kiper isn't any better at draft projections than your average basement virgin nerd. He just gets paid as if he is.
Tim Williams is a stud.

Kiper, on the other hand, is a dud, and given how horrible he is on NFL draft day, I think he's nothing more than a stooge for the teams and never gets any REAL inside information. I think they know he'll go running on TV with his standard, "Well, several GMs told me..." so they can gauge the reaction from some in the media and prepare how they want to approach it.

Kiper is the nerd who wants to be in the cool club so they pretend like he'll be there if he just does this or that little deed, but they keep (pardon the pun) moving the goalposts on him.
I can think of another two names ESPNPMS needs to add to their fired people: McShay and Kiper.

These guys have ZERO connections, nobody tells them anything, and someone serving a life sentence for murder who has never even seen a football game could arbitrarily match as many right as these guys get.

Put Mel in a room with Matt Austin and I’m not sure who would be more wrong about more things they constantly assert are right between them. It would be the classic example of “too close to call!”
Because Mel Kiper knows less about football than George Costanza knows about women. Same for most of the front office guys.

Btw - have you noticed the "Sanders wasn't chosen because racism" comes at a time when we have more and more black head coaches being hired....so does this mean the black head coaches are racist? Because you know damn well if an owner told DeMeco Ryans, don't choose a black QB, it would get out.

So unless one wants to say DeMeco Ryans, Mike Tomlin, Todd Bowles, Raheem Morris, Jerod Mayo, and Antonio Pierce all hate black guys, this whole narrative is more preposterous than it has ever been.

Houston Texas (Ryan) - already has a starting black QB (Stroud)
Steelers (Tomlin) - drafted a white guy because Tomlin is obviously racist
Bucs (Bowles) - Baker Mayfield, obviously a racist black head coach
Morris - drafted Penix to build his team around last year
Mayo - has both a white guy (Maye) and a black guy (Brissett)
Pierce - drafted two white FCS QBs so clearly a racist black guy

I don't know what is more shocking, the fact that the NFL is racist or that Cam Ward and Jalen Milroe are white.

Your point is valid, of course, but just pointing out that Jerrod Mayo is no longer the Patriots' head coach.
