I like our chances at getting him better now that AJ Jones is looking like a Gator. He would be a good get for sure. I heard that grades might be an issue, not sure how true that is. I think we will take two more linebackers. It will be interesting to see which tow they are and if we would take both Smith and Spikes, and if so, would that be it, or would we try to get a true OLB? Smith looks to me like he could play on the strong side, though.

He likes our staff and depth chart....but I think his family likes Ole Miss at the moment, but that could change....

he is deciding late...as late as NSD....question is, will we have room then?

He said all his favorites are even right now. He will know which one he favors after his official visits. He will visit Ole Miss (12/3), Alabama (12/9), Tennessee (1/14), LSU (1/21), and USM (1/27).

Great name. We've had a great Derrick, or two, and a couple of great Odoms. I know, I know, a name doesn't translate into greatness, but I have a thing about names. Had some great names on the '92 team. :biggrin2:

I learned when I was his age the hard way that mamma doesn't always know best. Neither Mississippi school looks like a great place to go right now.

I hope they are going after this guy hard. We need some depth at LB. He looks like he has the talent to be compared to some of our greats.

Alabama coach Sparky Woods and the receivers coach Charlie Harbison visited Odom on Monday in his home. He said he will be taking his official visit to Alabama next weekend on Dec. 9th. Odom said he thinks Coach Shula is planning on visiting him as well.

I just watched Odom's video. He devastates people. Big time hitter.
