Destin Hood ?

It seems that we have a good chance with Hood and Barron since Matchett is committed and AJ will likely come to UA. However, Hood is also a good baseball player. What are the chances that he sticks with football over baseball?

just depends on his draft status. He got selected to a high profile showcase in San Diego, I think.

I know John Parker didn't get what he wanted when he got drafted, so the situation is a reverse Catch-22. On one hand, if he doesn't get drafted high, he'll likely be at UA and help out our team. However, if he gets drafted high, he'll be getting out of HS with more $$ than most. It's win-win for him.

No inside information here, but everything I keep hearing from him seems to indicate he's heading the baseball route if it looks promising. At the best, it seems like baseball is taking away a LOT of important time from his football time... especially this summer.

I don't mean to hijack this thread, but on the topic of baseball, what happened with Desmond Jennings?

I have heard that it looks likely that he goes the baseball route, but, who ever really knows for sure with high school kids? He probably doesn't know for sure himself yet.

In any event, he is a very good prospect and will certainly have the opportunity to pursue baseball.

On the Desmond Jennings question, he signed with the Devil Rays and, last I heard, he was tearing it up in the low minors.
