Its no secret Shula wants to actively recruit Florida talent. What better way to make in-roads and send a signal to the Florida schools than to go after the state's most prized recruit?

Prox... I'm there with you already. In any case (whether the interest from TT was legitimately there or not), we came out ahead to stay in his recruitment. I believe CMS knew he would eventually be able to sway McElroy... so staying in the Tebow race was a "win-win situation" because of the publicity.

i think it will be aginst bama if it happens. i think last yrs loss to us is still a sore spot. and who else but tebo to try and stick in to us.

I think Tebow will be a great player for the urban myth. Of course, if all he gets are a few plays each game, it's a waste of a year of eligibility which is great for Bama.

Those few plays against Tennessee helped them win the game. He ran for about 6 or 7 first downs, including on the go-ahead drive. I don't consider that a wasted year of eligibility.

Putting in a different QB for short yardage was a Coach Dubose tactic as well....:eek2:

I seem to remember David Palmer lining up at QB in some short yardage situations for Stallings too. You can't immediately dismiss a tactic on the assumption that just because Dubose did it it must have been stupid.

I also believe that just having him take snaps, being with the offense and experiencing the road games and the hostile atmosphere is extremely important to tebow's learning curve.

Experience is terribly underestimated IMO.

I doubt it. DCs aren't stupid enough to just disregard the fact that he set passing records in HS.

TT's a big kid, but Meyer's system guarantee's the QB will be hit, & hit often. It may well be the Achillies to the type O he runs, but TT knew this when he agreed to be a Gator.

thats my point...i can't wait to see him try to run the option...this isn't highschool and he is not bigger than most 3a linebackers in Florida now. I can see another version of "The Sack" with Juwan Simpson taking the place of Bennet already.

I noticed in the UF/UT game, that TT got at least 1 play each quarter. Could he have been promised this to go to UF? Seems kinda extreme, if so, but hey, at least CUM didn't have to hire TT's high school Coach, to get him to play for him, ala Arkie.

Not a recruiting expert and have no way of knowing what either Meyer or Shula promised Tebow, but seriously doubt it would be a play in each qtr... If he did, he has not lived up to that promise.

As has already been mentioned, he is only a play away from being the starter. I don't think we really had an option to redshirt him and like that he got into the TN game even if it was just to run a few keepers. Am surprised that TN did not do better agianst him as everyone had to assume he was going to run it. If we can get out in front of KY, I think he will get an opportunity to do some throws, but if not agree that a play action pass is just waiting for the right moment to be called - either at AL or one of the next 3.

I think Coach Meyer showed his lack of faith/respect for Chris Leak and his ability to get the first down when he brought in Tebow!

I also think the Coach showed a crack in his armor and his predictability when the Gators were 3rd and short, by bringing Tebow into the game, each and every time and giving him the ball to run.

I think that's a lot to place on the shoulders of a true freshman, don't you?

Just think what damage could be done to the psychie of a new, freshman QB and his future worth to the UF system "IF" he was the reason the "TEAM" lost the game by NOT getting the required yardage???

There are a lot of college football programs who would give a lot to have a Chris Leak on their team and he just brings in a Frosh QB!!

The possibility of TT coming to the University of Alabama were about as good as BC not coming to Alabama.

Hmmm...guess you don't remember Brodie was headed to Tallahassee until Mark Richt left FSU for UGA (no verbal by Brodie so nothing he had to renig on). The Richts and the Croyles had become very close. The only reason Bama won out is because Richt left FSU.
