Some of y'all need to stay off barner boards because you're doing nothing but driving yourselves nuts. More importantly, do the rest of us a favor and leave that mess off our board. Most of us couldn't care less what they're saying/speculating/lying/fantasizing about.

Yea, the boogs are either screaming or whimpering on Montgomery radio this morning. One was so upset, his voice actually started cracking.

Big time agree. I know this is a discussion board, but this has gotten beyond silly.

But hey, keep driving traffic to travis's site and keep racking up page views on the barner boards - you're only helping and encouraging them...

For the life of me, I don't understand some folks' fascination with what the barners are talking about. If you've got that fascination, fine, but please stop bringing it over here.

The university has done a fine job handling this issue with class, dignity and openness, and it's been passed along to you in this thread and in the national media (reputable media). Still, some of you persist in saying "but now they say this."

STOP IT!!!

Clay Travis is a closet barner, of that I am sure. I made the mistake of reading his Dixieland Delight book a few years back. I thought it would be an interesting read, given that it was a tour of every SEC home stadium in a single season. He took so many jabs at Bama, it was unreal. He went to 2 Auburn games that year, LSU at Auburn for the trip to jordan-hare, and Auburn at Alabama for the trip to Bryant-Denny and surprise surprise, Auburn won both. He went to 3 Bama games that year (it was Shula's final season, I'm almost positive it was done by design to be at three Bama games) and surprise surprise, we lost all three. He was at Alabama at Arkansas for the trip to Reynolds Stadium, Alabama at Florida for the trip to The Swamp, and of course the Iron Bowl. The Iron Bowl chapter really infuriated me because he said something about deep down, the Bama fans know they don't stand a chance in this game. He just couldn't stop praising Brandon Cox's performance in that game, which if I remember correctly, Cox did very little in that game other than complete a pass for a two point conversion late in the game. Meanwhile, the LSU at Auburn game he attended, which Auburn won 7-3, was "one for the record books". I am convinced that he has signed Cam and Nick Fairley jerseys at home. Perhaps somebody should look in to that.

The sad thing is, I'm not going to blogs or message boards, this is stuff that keeps getting retweeted on my twitter. It's nearly impossible to avoid.

That's how I found out what was deleted. I'm not going to Travis or Brooks anymore, and I'm sure not going to any AU site. I just saw it on Twitter.

Which is why I got off Twitter altogether. I couldn't stand the frenetic pace and the squawkishness of it. Every time I logged on I felt like I had been plunked down in the middle of a hen house!

That is why twitter is unreliable as a news source on its own...joe blogger & reporters alike throw out whatever thought pops in their head as teaser news "sound-bites", but its not always true or even news-worthy.

I looked at all the pics on the owners fb before they were removed, and saw nothing that looked out of the ordinary to me...UA Compliance has handled this the right way and was on top of it well before the barner slobs were...I posted it before, Travis is trying to build up his new website and knows this story will direct traffic to his site...don't give him the satisfaction. Even most of the barners agree on that, but they were hoping to get this story picked up by a major news outlet, and it never really happened.
Kudos to our compliance dept., this is how its done.

It's reporters like Clavis Trey and "Opie" Lee and the barners that have been stirring up all these questions that are destroying college football. Hopefully they'll fade into obscurity and irrelevance where they all belong and the good fans will take back the sport.

I have to agree with SD and CA, it is definitely unproductive to go to those aubie boards and blogs! Don't, it just helps them!

True. And if need be, take a break from the JOX Round Table or the Opening Drive and BY ALL MEANS don't listen to any sports talk coming out of Montgomery the next couple of weeks. Just do your blood pressure a favor. If you can't look at and listen to that stuff without getting upset, and then letting it permeate your better judgement, then just don't listen to it. Because I guarantee you - you're NOT missing any facts, because those shows wouldn't know a fact from a f*rt. So lay low for a few days, get your info on Tidefans, and ignore your Twitter feed too.

Who are the two people in the sideline picture in question? Does anyone here know these two people? Is it CR and Mr. TA? When was this picture taken? One would assume it would have had to been at this years A-Day game. I hope not.

So Clay's latest scoop is a pic of player-autographed jerseys 4 sale in Univ. Mall. Problem is it was taken at the Galleria in Bham. Oops.

Latest developements, good for us, bad for the bad guys.

I only update because the guys in my office are UT fans, and they love seeing Clay Travis proven wrong. Believe it or not, they're actually on our side about this (the two that I know.) They love seeing Clay fall flat on his face, and quickly alerted me when they saw the latest developments.

Clay Travis apparently wrote an article earlier today about how Albetar was in fact selling autographed jersey's at University Mall and that the players knew about it. He even attached a picture of the kiosk in question. His whole argument was "How can the players not know their stuff was being resold if there was a kiosk in the mall with their memorabilia for sale?"

Well, in a "stunning" development, Clay was again quickly proven wrong when the picture was debunked. Turns out the picture in question was taken at the Galleria in Birmingham, and not in Tuscaloosa, meaning the kiosk in question has no relation to T-Town Menswear, and there's no way the football players in question could have known they were being sold.

If any of you have any worries whatsoever at this point, take solace in the fact that Clay has been debunked within a few minutes or hours on nearly every one of his accusations so far. If you can't tell he's just trying to drum up traffic for his new site at this point, I feel for ya.
