Poll: Do you flush or flesh?

In my office, I frequently hear "flush out" and "flesh out" in reference to determing all of the details of a situation. Which one do you tend to use?

They mean different things.

To "flush out" means to reveal something previously not known or seen; to show something.

To "flesh out" means to further develop or add to a concept or project.

"Flesh out details" is the usual idiom.

When a justification can be made for another usage, the new usage can become even more widely accepted. Instances of these are called eggcorns.

I've never used "fleshing out," but this makes sense to me. Very interesting read at link.

To sum it up:
You flesh out a plan.
You flush toilets and flush out toxins.
You flush out game or peope who are in hiding.
